About this deal

Mar 3rd 2023 LG Display Claims Samsung's QD OLED More Susceptible to Screen Burn Than LG's WOLED (125) The static contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce simultaneously, for example, within one and the same frame/scene. I think this is a good 4K monitor for console gaming, just don't expect much from the HDR. Having said that, if you can find the UK series for significantly cheaper, I would recommend that over the UL series since its basically a refresh.

Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen.

HDCP 2.2 Compatible

Both models have decent default gamma. Its close to 2.2 overall in Gamma Mode 2, though its lower (lighter) as the display approaches white. Not something that would be noticeable to an untrained eye though. LG has released a new addition to their monitor lineup. The 27UK650-W is an interesting monitor, marrying a 27", 16:9 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS panel with HDR 10 support. The static contrast ratio of 1000:1 means the monitor has a dynamic contrast of 5,000,000:1 (not that that particular spec matters much). The maximum brightness, however, leaves much to be desired on a HDR-enabled monitor: the LG 27UK650-W only manage to deliver 350 cd/m² brightness, which is lower than even the lowest HDR standard AMD considers as being HDR capable (a minimum brightness of 400 cd/m² is required for that). The sRGB 99% Color Gamut coverage is good, however, if not that rare a feature nowadays. The operating humidity shows the acceptable level of humidity, in which the display will function flawlessly. It sets a lower and an upper humidity level for safe operation and is measured in percentage.

Information about the brightness of the screen. It is measured in candela per square metre (cd/m²). The LG 27UK650 is an affordable 27″ 4K IPS monitor that supports AMD FreeSync and entry-level HDR (High Dynamic Range) which makes it an impressive choice for 4K PC/console gaming, content creation, and other multimedia use. Image Quality The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. Sep 5th 2023 The New Philips 27E2F7901 Monitor Brings High-end Design Features to Content Creators (9)

bugNeah, HDR is about supporting a larger luminance range. You can't physically do that, if you're constrained to a limited color space to begin with. Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches.

Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe. While the LG 27UK650 is a decent 4K monitor for gaming and other use, the ASUS VG289Q simply offers better value for the price. Screen Size On a 27″ screen of the LG 27UK650 monitor, 4K resolution results in a high pixel-per-inch ratio of 163 PPI, which makes for a lot of screen real estate and sharp details. There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used. The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. I recently received an LG 27UL650-W, the 2019 successor to the highly regarded 27UK650. Since the UK series is fairly popular among 4K gaming monitors, particularly when it comes to console usage, I thought I would provide a detailed review of the UL650 and how, if at all, it differs from the UK series. For reference, I previously owned the 27UK600 (same panel as the UK650). These specs, along with 4K UHDresolution, ensure a stunning image quality, and while the contrast ratio isn’t as high as that of the VA panel alternatives, you do get more accurate and consistent colors. The UL650 covered 99.1% of sRGB, similar to the 99.4% value for my UK600. It does seem that LG improved the dci-P3 coverage slightly. My UK600 had only 79% of dci-P3, where my UL650 has 84% of dci-P3. This is noticeable in HDR content, where colors do seem a bit more natural and less garish. Its still not great coverage, and I wouldn't consider this display to be a wide color gamut display, but its an improvement.

Oct 23rd 2023 Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite X SoC for Laptop Leaks: 12 Cores, LPDDR5X Memory, and WiFi7 (32) Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. For a good HDR viewing experience, we recommend a monitor that has at least VESA’s HDR600 certification though these displays are, naturally, also more expensive. There’s also HDR Effect (simulates HDR for non-compatible content) and pre-calibrated picture presets (FPS 1, FPS 2, RTS, Reader, Photo, Cinema, Dark Room, Color Weakness, Custom, EBU, Rec.709, SMPTE-C, HDR Vivid, HDR Standard, HDR Game, and HDR Cinema). Design & Connectivity The LG 27UK650 has a fairly ergonomic stand with up to 110mm height adjustment, -5°/15° tilt, 90° pivot, and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility. You cannot swivel the screen to the left/right. The UL series sees an upgrade to DisplayPort 1.4, vs the UK series which had 1.2. Other than that, the connectivity options are the same.
