Please note the views and opinions expressed below are gathered from my own experiences while using the device. They may/will differ from yours should you decide to participate. Each kit comes complete with a 2ml refillable IPX80 RPM 2 pod and two RPM 2 coils. The pod is easy to refill thanks to a removable rubber bung, when reinstated this bung creates a tight seal to reduce leaks. The RPM 2 0.16 Ohm coil creates more vapour for DTL vaping, while the 0.6 Ohm coil produces a discreet amount of vapour for MTL vaping. With a wide selection of coils available separately, you'll be able to experiment to find a vape that works for you. Two coils are included, a 0.16oHm mesh coil for restricted direct lung and a 0.6oHm round wire coil for a (loose) mouth to lung vape. These perform exactly the same as with any of the other RPM-2 kits giving fairly decent flavour and the adjustable airflow was helpful with these as previous RPM kits are a bit on the airy side. Pros The IPX80 is about the size of a regular single 18650 battery mod. It’s close in height to the Aegis Boost Plus but the oval shape is quite a bit girthier. It weighs 130g with the pod installed but it surprisingly doesn’t feel very heavy in my hand. The airflow is really cool on this also, and takes a few points from the Geekvape Aegis line. It is in the shape of a ring, that you spin to control how much airflow you get. This can be seen on the original Geekvape Mods as well, and it works really well. Inside the box besides the IPX-80 itself you get the usual scattering of paperwork and a USB-C charge cable along with two RPM-2 coils. Important Note* While the actual SMOK IPX80 itself is definitely waterproof, the PODS are not. If you drop your kit into water, make sure you dump the pod, clean it, and replace the coil immediately. The Smok IPX80 Pod Kit is personally my favourite Smok Pod device currently. Compared to the Smok RPM80 Pod Kit that I once owned, it’s basically an indestructible version. One of the features I would have added to the RPM80 is an adjustable airflow and a USB C type charging cable/port. Seeing as it provides both MTL and DTL vaping experiences, I felt that the device was too airy when switching over to MTL vaping. When it comes to performance both coils are excellent. They provided fantastic flavour quality fast approaching that of a half decent sub ohm tank in my opinion. SMOK also took the idea of the RPM pod, and beefed it up to 5.5ML. This is a LOT of juice! For comparison, the original Baby Beast Tank held about the same amount of liquid. You will not have to deal with refills throughout the day with the SMOK IPX80.The RPM2 0.6ohm DC coil powered to 22W gave me a considerably longer vaping period between charges.
