About this deal

You can see our initial launch article for Skylake-X here, while today we'll be comparing the Core i7-7800X to other current CPUs in its price range as well as those that match certain of its specifications - these include the Ryzen 5 1600X and Ryzen 7 1700X, which will be the new CPU's main competitors, at least until Coffee Lake arrives. Specifications See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/hyper-threading/hyper-threading-technology.html?wapkw=hyper+threading for more information including details on which processors support Intel® HT Technology. The simple reason for this is that Intel will soon offer a very similar CPU, but on its upcoming and likely cheaper mainstream platform in the form of the Core i7-8700K. Both CPUs will have six cores and 12 threads, but while the Core i7-8700K will likely be more expensive, motherboards will eventually be cheaper, and the CPU will also sport a lot more L3 cache if the rumours are to be believed. Nov 22nd 2023 Intel Core Ultra 7 155H iGPU Outperforms AMD Radeon 780M, Comes Close to Desktop Intel Arc A380 (39) Since this is a popular title right now I thought why not throw it into the mix. If you're playing with a dual-core or a lower-end quad-core and things aren't going well don't bother spending big by investing in the 7800X. You'll see almost 30% more performance when using the 7700K according to my testing.

Over at Techspot, Steven Walton managed to get a hold of Intel's new six-core, 12-thread Core i7-7800X CPU, and chose to take it for a spin over a levy of gaming benchmarks. The results don't bode particularly well for Intel's new top i7 offering, though: it is soundly beat by its smaller, svelter brother in virtually all gaming tasks. Jun 27th 2022 Windows Defender can Significantly Impact Intel CPU Performance, We have the Fix (219) With a TDP of 140 W, the Core i7-7800X consumes a lot of power, so good cooling is definitely needed. Intel's processor supports DDR4 memory with a quad-channel interface. For communication with other components in the computer, Core i7-7800X uses a PCI-Express Gen 3 connection. This processor does not have integrated graphics, you will need a separate graphics card.Max Turbo Frequency refers to the maximum single-core processor frequency that can be achieved with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. See www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/ for more information and applicability of this technology.

Intel processor numbers are not a measure of performance. Processor numbers differentiate features within each processor family, not across different processor families. See http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html for details. With fewer cores involved, we hoped that the Core i7-7800X might be able to squeeze out some extra megahertz, and we did indeed reach a healthy 4.8GHz with a vcore of 1.29V. This is a fantastic result, as it represents the highest frequency we've ever achieved with an HEDT processor and is a massive 400MHz higher than the Core i7-6850K, one of Intel's previous generation six-core CPUs.

Processors that support 64-bit computing on Intel® architecture require an Intel 64 architecture-enabled BIOS. Jan 20th 2023 PSA: Intel I226-V 2.5GbE on Raptor Lake Motherboards Has a Connection Drop Issue: No Fix Available (203) The inclusion of a six-core CPU in Intel's Skylake-X lineup is something of a mystery in the current scheme of things given that we fully expect them to appear in the mainstream platform courtesy of Coffee Lake. System and Maximum TDP is based on worst case scenarios. Actual TDP may be lower if not all I/Os for chipsets are used.
