About this deal

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a time-period type piece, some of the dialogue felt like they were part of an older era (which was also extremely repetitive and felt like words were strung together strictly for a higher word count. We didn't need Hollis' skin tone to be explained three times within two paragraphs.), but then there were things like Vampire Diaries and modern technologies mentioned and it just threw me off.

Still, the book is a good read when one takes the time to read it carefully and not try to read as fast as possible because there's so much stuff happening left and right to Bella and her men that you can't really stop reading :D In the wild, it makes sense to use other creatures of the same species as a food source if food is scarce or if the other animal is too weak to survive.

SparkNotes—the stress-free way to a better GPA

An adult praying mantis, that is ready to mate has reached the last stage of its life and will die soon after either mating (male) or laying eggs (female) anyway. I knew what he wanted me to say. I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of it. Not yet. So I said, ‘I want a distraction.’ It was breathless. ‘ I want—fun.’ His body again tensed behind mine.” If mantises are kept as pets, they must be separated in L2, otherwise, you will lose some of your mantises to cannibalism. They passed by in full number, and not one of them perished: they sought not one another; for the Lord commanded them, and his Spirit gathered them.

Praying mantises lay different numbers of eggs depending on their species and overall health level. Mating success can also affect the number of eggs laid, as the females who mate completely with a decapitated male tend to lay more eggs than those who don’t eat their mate. Here, Rhys and Feyre both play their parts: Rhys as the evil swaggering Lord of Court of Nightmares and Feyre as his little play thing. Did I include your favorite #Feyrhys quote? If not, drop it in the comments and let’s fan girl together!!I feel like a duology might have been an option with everything that's happening - there really isn't much time to breathe for the characters. Rhys gifts Feyre by showing her the land for a new home for them with “room for a nursery”, and she can decorate it to her heart’s content! As I looked on him, his countenance expressed the utmost extent of malice and treachery. I thought with a sensation of madness on my promise of creating another like to him, and trembling with passion, tore to pieces the thing on which I was engaged. The wretch saw me destroy the creature on whose future existence he depended for happiness, and with a howl of devilish despair and revenge, withdrew.

Seek you out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it has commanded, and his spirit it has gathered them. The plot despite the fact that it was nice has lots of plot holes as well and we were left with many things still unresolved.Rhysand is the High Lord of the Night Court and is first introduced in the ACOTAR series during A Court of Thorns and Roses. Rhys is introduced as a villainous character but turns out to be SO much more in the following books. Their purpose is to distract Keir while Azriel steals the orb Chapter 42 of A Court of Mist and Fury If a female kept in captivity has been well-fed before mating, she is less likely to eat the male during and after copulation. But if she hasn’t been fed enough, she may decide to eat the male even before they have mated, simply because she is hungry. lt rushed and i didn't feel that we got to actual see the FMC with each mate and we didn't get to see them develop their relationship as they had to rush off to find the next mate and the next mate and the next one. Here are some of my favorite highlights from this section of the story! Rhysand Shows Feyre Velaris

Feyre is an actual lady boss in the court, both on the battlefield and off. She kills a bunch of Hybrun’s army and gets revenge on her ex-love! This story ended up being interesting, but I’ll admit it’s not going down as one of my favorite RH stories. Primarily because it took a direction with regards to mates that didn’t sit right with me. I won’t say too much because I feel readers/listeners should have the chance to experience it for themselves and draw their own conclusions, but it left me feeling less than satisfied and things just felt unbalanced. I also found that when it came to the narration of the story, there were some words and names in particular that the narrators pronounced differently. Now while I’m used to chalking it up to different parts of the world say things differently, in this case it felt like the names in particular the narrators and their vastly different pronunciation sometimes took me out of the moment and had me wondering who they were talking about. I felt like it was problematic and could have been solved by maybe consulting the author and then at least both of them would have been saying it the same way even if us listeners would have said it differently in our real lives. All in all, the storyline and pacing were interesting enough to want to finish and see it through once I started. I just found myself wishing certain things had been done differently.Feyre fights a big worm, her inability to read almost gets her killed, and she drinks a LOT of Faerie wine. I have some uhhh opinions on this whole section of the book (as well as the entire ACOTAR series), which I do get into in a different post! Solo hubo un pequeño drama con la hermana que se resuelve para bien. No me gusta Heather desde su primera aparición y parece redimirse aquí luego de ver que su hermano puede perder a su pareja por su culpa. If you’ve read the ACOTAR series, you’re probably all about the High Lord of the Night Court and his High Lady. Almost spent, as I was, by fatigue and the dreadful suspense I endured for several hours, this sudden certainty of life rushed like a flood of warm joy to my heart, and tears gushed from my eyes.
