About this deal

The effects of the optical anti-aliasing (AA) filter are obtained with Shake Reduction. Moving the image sensor slightly during the exposure suppresses false colors and moiré. You can choose whether to prioritize resolution or reducing false colors and moiré depending on your subject. Choose [High] or [Low] for effect settings. So there’s all that – but you can get specs anywhere. I’m more interested in the character of a given camera and how it performs in the real world while shooting on the street.

Parameter: Brightness, Saturation, Filter Effect*, Hue, Toning*, Contrast, Sharpness (Adjust parameter varies depending on the selected editing setting) But when I look at an EVF, I’m often nagged by the sense that I’m looking “into” the camera. The image appears in real time but it almost seems to be separated from reality by the simple fact that it’s in the camera. The GR III features a hybrid AF system combining a contrast-type AF mechanism superior in focusing precision with a phase-detection-type AF mechanism assuring high-speed focusing operation. Taking advantage of both mechanisms, it assures faster, more responsive autofocus operation.

Autofocus also now benefits from Hybrid AF - using phase detection for speed, and contrast detection for accuracy. There is a macro mode that allows you to focus down to subjects in the 5 - 12cm range. And you can focus manually too - with such mod cons as focus peaking to help you to do this accurately. i particularly love the variance of the real ones and i think photos are good for all your right that there are variances from seeing real machines and photos of them there is not much difference with a good photo and a photo is the best think your gonna get as that is the only document we have of what actually was. We were shown a full production version of the GR III by Ricoh ahead of today's launch. We've shot a gallery of sample JPEG and RAW images with the camera in street-shooting-friendly Shoreditch, London, and spent some valuable hands-on time with the GR III.

In the past, the photojournalist’s go-to focal length was generally 35mm. Modern photojournalism embraces a wider field of view, typically provided by a 24mm focal length, as this is the wide end of most professional standard zooms on the market. The GR III’s 28mm FOV is an excellent sweet spot in between 24mm and 35mm. ISO 250 f/3.5, 1/160sec ISO 500 f2.8/, 1/160sec ISO 500 f2.8/, 1/160sec Sidebar: Composing on the rear panel Every Ricoh GR user knows this happens and it’s something we’ve had to live with because the features and usability of these cameras is so damn good.

The GR III is the first in the GR series to sport 3-axis in-body image stabilization. This is rated by Ricoh at 4-stops. In practice, I’ve found I can get sharp images of stationary objects at shutter speeds down to about 1/8sec. If I limit my intake of strong Vietnamese coffee, I can achieve sharpness whilst hand-holding at 1/4 sec. Quite impressive for a tiny point and shoot. f8 and be there

Hands down, my favorite feature of any GR camera is the Snap Focus mode. In a nutshell, Snap Focus mode lets you set a fixed focus distance and use aperture to create the amount of depth of field you need to get your subject in focus. The Ricoh GR III is a compact 24MP APS-C format camera with a 28mm equivalent F2.8 lens. The third in a series of APS-C 'GR' compacts from Ricoh, the GR III has been a long time coming, but updates the GR II in some highly significant ways. Several Ricoh representatives have described the GR III to us as a 'labor of love' - keep reading to find out whether the work of the company's engineers has paid off. Key specifications: P.S. Whilst I am certainly guilty of becoming a fanboy of whichever new camera I own, I have never written a camera review, so this will be my first. I‘ve had my GR III for only three weeks, so I will leave this post open and update it over time. I have no problem recommending this camera for any street shooter looking for a smaller kit that doesn’t sacrifice image quality or usability for size.New Image Control function enables in-camera adjustments of various parameters such as saturation, hue, key, contrast and grain Battery Recharge/Power Supply (Optional AC Adapter required), Data Transfer: MTP, Video output: DisplayPort over USB-C (DisplayPort Alternative Mode) there's an area of the same material and a slight protrusion which combine together to act as a thumb The latest firmware version (v. 1.41) allows for touch-screen activation of both focus and shutter release. In other words, you point the lens at the subject, compose the image on the screen and simply touch where you want the focus point to be and you’ve captured the image. The camera features a new image-control mode for creating photos that appear as if they originated on negative film. * It recreates unique visual effects, balancing rich colors with the discoloration found in prints produced using negative film.
