Supporting environmental organisations, as an outward looking, purpose-driven enterprise we look to work with organisations that share out values. GreenSea Solutions Ltd is one such organisation that cultivates seaweed in Scotland. Made to reflect the changing drinking culture - with many people now choosing no or low alcohol brands - the spirithas been created to offer a premium and satisfying alternative to an alcoholic drink. Meaning wild earth, the new alcohol-free spirit, which has an amber hue, is distilled, blended and bottled in the Scottish Lowlands. With a combined 10 years in the global spirits market (on both sides of the Atlantic) co-founders Jamie and Bill have spent the past year crafting a spirit that they are proud of. How it is made? This drink is progressively distilled, blended and bottled in the far reaches of the Scottish Lowlands, an area governed by centuries of spirit innovation. Traditional alcohol habits can be expensive and damaging. We look to offer a comparable alternative and be a vessel for positive outcomes for customers such as increased health, mental health, productivity, relationship and balanced lifestyle. Amber in colour, with a taste of clean complexity and warming finish, this is an open call to cut out the noise and take in the moments worth savouring.
How it is made?
This set our course to raise some funding, develop the liquid and the brand and Feragaia’s launch in late 2019. Look for quality, transparency, and certification when reviewing our suppliers. This is communicated in our supplier agreements which states the expectations for Feragaia of working with our suppliers such as the traceability and go to acceptable lengths to compensate and look after their workforce. Ann Camus, enterprise and business development manager at Fife Council, said: “Feragaia is a fantastic example of a start-up business that has benefited enormously from our trade development programme. We have eliminated all harmful chemicals from our manufacturing process. Our manufacturing process is low impact, chemical free and our botanicals are composted afterwards. Its name means ‘wild earth’, with Fera in Latin meaning ‘wild’ and ‘Gaia’ in Greek mythology translating to ‘earth’.
JW: For a simple serving, I drink the ‘Wild Ginger’, which is Feragaia, Ginger Ale and a slice of lime. If I have a little more time on my hands, I concoct a Feragaia Sour. We make a seasonal ‘Spiced Pear Sour’ special, which I love.
