About this deal

In short, the ABL system did not work for me, and I really hope Creality fixes this issue in a firmware update. Otherwise, having the CR-Touch installed doesn’t provide any value to the Ender 5 S1. There’s a 32-bit mainboard (below 50 dB according to Creality, a built-in toolbox, print resume function, belt tensioners, and a new UI with a print preview function. Looks wise, the Ender 3 Neo benefits from a facelift, borrowing the same sharp, full-metal gantry design found on the Ender 3 S1. Ender 3 S1 The printer comes with an SD card with a Windows version of the Cura slicer and an Ender 5 Cura profile (.json). Recent versions of the program offer a pre-set profile for this printer. If you’re new to 3D printing, the Ender 3 V2 cuts down that initial learning curve a few pegs but keeps the core Ender 3 spirit of tinkering and upgrading to get the very best out of the machine. It’s an iconic printer refined, adding even more value to an already affordable machine. Ender 5 Pro Ender 5 Pro Specs There are other considerations to keep in mind, notably price, a front on which the Ender 3 beats out the Ender 5.

Thankfully the bed is a standard Ender size and the plate can be easily replaced. I’d recommend swapping it with this double-sided PEI plate from Comgrow that has both smooth and textured surfaces. Comparison Table between the Ender-5 S1 and the Ender-5 Pro. Scope of Delivery & Setup Ender-5 Pro Ender-5 S1 BLTouch Auto Bed Leveling Sensor– the king of third-party automatic bed leveling upgrades, the mighty BL Touch pairs beautifully with both the Ender 3 and Ender 5. (Image credit: Tom's Hardware) Among the improvements are a just-about-average 220 x 220 x 300 mm build volume, ideal if you want a little more room to play with than the Ender 3. New dedicated stepper motors for each axis improve overall stability and fix the Ender 3’s unfortunate Y-axis wobble issues. A heated C-MAG magnetic build plate powered by a beefy 24V Mean Well PSU ensures speedy bed heating for ABS, PLA, TPU, and PETG printing. On the right side of the printer, an LCD display attached to the gantry lets you directly operate the device. The rotating dial lets you navigate the menu and select the printing settings in just a few steps. Test results from Creality Lab show that printing a 3DBenchy takes only 54 minutes at the maximum speed, saving 50% of the time compared to printing at 50 mm/s.

The Phil-A-Ment print came out great with good overhang quality, but again, significant ringing can be seen on some sections of the model. Other than that, the extrusion quality is nice, and it’s a good print. Otherwise, it has all the quality upgrades as the Ender 5 Pro, notably the improved extruder and tubing, silent mainboard, and dual Y-axis motion control system. Creality also opted to house all the printer’s components inside the frame, making for a neater, more contained overall design. I was also surprised to see that Creality used thermal paste between the heatsink and the heat break to improve thermal transfer, which is excellent. 5015 Radial Fan and a CR-Touch Bed Leveling Probe With my new profile loaded, I tweaked the speed settings to rather faster than I use for the Ender 3. I set the basic print speed at 150mm/s – three times what I normally run at – and adjusted the others accordingly. Then I sliced the Benchy and loaded it into the Ender 5 S1.The 4.3-inch Touchscreen has a pretty nice interface that is responsive, and it has enough menu options to control most of the settings you would want for the printer. Unfortunately, the screen options are not laid out as well as I expect and there are inconsistencies in the available touch buttons. For most amateur printing projects, 50 to 80 mm/s is widely considered the optimal range to balance out print speed and print quality. Because it’s open-source, the Ender 3 has become well-known for its various community-shared modifications, too. Add-ons and non-official Ender 3 upgrades have made it the tinkerer’s dream in 3D printing. The print volume of the Ender-5 Pro is 20 mm larger in the z-axis than the Ender-5 S1. In practical terms, the print volume is identical. So with both 3D printers, you can print small and medium-sized objects in one piece.
