There are now 3 ways to configure the table saw. The sliding carriage can now be fitted on either side of the bladeso that you can work on the left or right. If you are not using the sliding carriage you can fit one extension table on either side of the blade or both on the right hand side or both on the left hand side.

The writhing knife cannot easily be removed for blind cuts when making shallow rebates...it's a nightmare to replace it if you do remove it and took me 15 minutes as reaching the nut and bolt whilst holding the shims and stop plate in place needs care and dexterity! This is the only choice for those wanting a decent cast iron table bench saw and accurate fence but can't accommodate a 16A supply, as it works of a UK 13A plug. It's not quite as powerful as my older Bosch contractors saw but once set up is very accurate and cust well. First thing I did was change the blade to a 60T TCT. While all varieties of saw cut wood, using the wrong saw can mean that the effect you are looking to create might not be possible, as each is designed to cut and handle timber differently.

The table is square and flat. The out tables are pretty thin pressed metal, but adequate. The fence and fence rail take a while to set up, but end up square if care is taken. The fence itself is extruded aluminium, so light weight. The first thing you'll want to do is update it or stiffen it. You'll also want to sort a zero clearance insert and probably update the riving system if you want to do anything serious. The motor is quiet and powerful enough. The motor spindle is true, with no blade wobble. Talking about the blade, the one supplied is useless, so replace it straight away. In all, I am very pleased with this saw bench and would recommend it for home use or professional workshop use as there's nothing to beat it on the market at the price and the added bonus is the excellent cross cut table and fence. I use it in a professional workshop and for the money it's very good, and unlike some other similar machines from other companies, is trade rated so the motor is rated for at least an hours use per day or over 300 hours annually which is about what I use it for.
