The usual dose for adults and children is 1 drop into the affected eye(s), 4 times a day, or as needed. If you forget to use the drops at your 'usual' time, do not worry, just put them in when you remember. Do not 'double up' the number of drops you use to make up for forgetting to use them. Use the carmellose sodium eye drops within the expiry date on the bottle. Use them within 4 weeks of opening, unless your drops come with different instructions. This will help to prevent the risk of eye infections and the eye drops not working so well. Ask a pharmacist if you are not sure. Carmellose Sodium, Lactic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Edetate, Cetrimide, Sterile Water. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.Carmize (Carmellose Sodium) lubricant eye drops for lasting and soothing relief and protection against burning, irritation and discomfort due to ocular dryness or exposure to environmental factors. Carmize 1% Eye Drops contain an eye lubricant called Carmellose sodium.It is used for the treatment of the symptoms of dry eye (such as soreness, burning, irritation, or dryness) caused by your eye not producing enough tears to keep the eye wet or due to environmental factors. Repeat in your other eye if you need to. There is enough liquid in 1 single-dose dropper to put a drop in both eyes if needed. If you use carmellose sodium with other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes before using your other eye drops. The second eye drops can wash out the carmellose sodium and it may not work as well.

After putting in the eye drops you may get slightly blurred vision or a mild stinging sensation. If your vision is affected it is recommended that you do not drive or use any machinery until your vision has cleared. This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy. If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Make sure that the single-dose container is intact before use. The solution should be used immediately after opening. To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not let the open-end of the single-dose container touch your eye or anything else. Wash your hands before use. Reporting suspected adverse reactions after authorisation of the medicinal product is important. It allows continued monitoring of the benefit/risk balance of the medicinal product. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected adverse reactions via Yellow Card Scheme If you also use an eye ointment, always use your eye drops first and wait 5 minutes before using the ointment.

Carmellose sodium eye drops can be stored at room temperature and do not need to be kept in a fridge. What if I forget to use it? These eye drops are unlikely to have any harmful effect when used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, as with all medicines, these drops should be used with caution by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and only on the advice of a doctor. If your eye irritation persists or gets worse after using these drops, or you experience a headache, eye pain, vision changes or continued redness, you should stop using these eye drops and consult your doctor.
