When a diaphragm pump is not producing a smooth water flow, it will often be due to an irregular pulsing action. Fitting a surge damper vertically, with the connection at the bottom, will rectify this. On one pitch, in France, we found that the water system was somewhat ‘industrial’ and the pressure so high, it kept blowing the pump connection out of the side of the van. On a couple of occasions, with the water tap fully opened, the water pressure was that high that the hose would come flying off the tap, so I had to turn the tap down and stand there for ages waiting for the Aquaroll to fill, not much fun in the pouring rain let me tell you! Also, it wasn’t always possible to position the Aquaroll close to the water tap (as shown in the picture above) so with the pipe fully stretched I would have to hold the end of the filler pipe to stop it coming out of the Aquaroll. Now, caravanners can experience a range of potential issues with submersible water pumps, which I’ll discuss below. On some occasions, it may be due to pump failure. However, sometimes the issue is with the pump and water pipe. Therefore, I wanted to briefly cover the different types of water pumps used in caravans and motorhomes.

Through this method, the water pump does not need to be lowered into the Aquaroll, it is permanently located inside the caravan or motorhome.
