About this deal

Considering that their products are top-notch no matter what decision you make, it should only make sense that we include one such component that is featured on one of their larger systems. Rear – This is the original mounting position for bike fueling systems and is almost always a cage type of hydration system. This is mostly due to the fact that snaking a feeder tube along the entire length of the bike is not an efficient design. Remember, they will likely be using a fueling system as well, so it is more important that your hydration system feel as comfortable and natural as possible. While technically there are three primary mounts, the front mount actually has two different sub-mounts. The Aero TT impresses us most with the inclusion of a carbon fiber cage that is less likely to deal with some of the durability issues other carbon fiber cages demonstrate because of its frame mounted position. The Torpedo Versa 200 also features the 500’s Dolphin Breather valve which allows you to keep the feeder tube in your mouth without worrying about inflating the bottle or the tube spilling its contents.

A better location was the seat tube - only resulting in a 3.6w penalty at 40kph or 1.6w at 30kph (1min30sec over an IM bike leg).As it stands, we feel that it is the best all-around value, assuming you already have a cage and mount.

Fork: SuperSix EVO Hi-MOD Carbon, integrated crown race, 12x100mm Syntace thru-axle, flat mount disc, internal routing, 1-1/8″ to 1-1/4″ Delta steerer, 55mm offset (48-54cm), 45mm offset (56-61cm)In this light, I have equipped it with wheels/handlebar/tires that would give me any practically minuscule yet theoretically gratifying gains, without compromising other variables too much. Handlebar: Cannondale SystemBar R-One – low drag, full carbon integrated bar/stem, internal routing As we mentioned earlier, bottle placement can be very individual, but the results we saw for Jess were typical to what we see with a lot of riders. We often recommend that if in doubt, place a bottle behind your saddle as this usually results in the least penalty. In some cases it has even been faster! Having a bottle between your arms is also a good option as we found with Jess, but it works best with riders that have their arms close together, rather than wide apart. Jess decided to go with the fastest of the available choices (500ml bottle behind the saddle) for her future long distance TTs. XLAB is the other company primarily known for manufacturing hydration systems which can be found in numerous Winner’s Circles from a wide variety of different triathlons.
