About this deal

Aasher smiled at her. “They said you’re their favorite waitress. You always give them extra fries.” Her arms crossed over her chest, and that was when I read her shirt. The Bex. Did she work there? Why hadn’t I noticed her before? that woman was the villain of this story, more so than chad bc chad wouldn’t have been an issue if it weren’t for the mother!!! Claire.” The dean nodded to her, and her lips smashed together as her arms crossed over her chest. I took note that she stayed by the door instead of sitting down beside me in the other chair at the foot of his desk. Interestingly, the chemistry and sparks were obviously THERE the whole time whenever Theo and Claire were in the same room—no pun intended—and even though they were trying very hard to keep up with the façade of being in a fake relationship and that everything was all for show in front of others, deep down they knew how real their love was, and somehow, the realization that nothing felt more right than embracing what they had only made the entire book much more realistic. As I mentioned before, I truly appreciated that this book indeed took the entire romance level up a notch so I looked forward to the rest of the Bexley U series.

I slowly blinked, still confused. “It’s a Friday night, though. You have all weekend to get prepared for next week.” Shaking my head, I changed directions and faked a smile. “Never mind. I know how you are. Call me later? I guess I’m gonna carry the rest of my boxes in and get settled too.” Use your key!” she rasped, half-yelling. A few doors had opened down the hall, and each guy glared at me as they shuffled down the hall with their morning wood. A few others were already up and at ‘em because the one thing about athletes? We liked our regimen. When we were on, we were on. Athletes were dedicated. Most of us were, at least. Landon wasn’t a fan of being up early. Morning conditioning made him grumble under his breath as he chugged an energy drink before crumpling the can and throwing on his skates. Take breaks: It’s okay to take breaks while reading. This can help prevent burnout and allow you to digest the story better. She seemed exasperated, and it was kind of cute how stressed out she was, but before I caused any more unnecessary stress for her, I leaned down and kissed her forehead before whispering, “It’s important, but I’m beginning to realize it may not be the most important thing anymore.”

I laughed and let the door shut, ignoring the burn that came with just about every interaction with my boyfriend and any conversation about him. Compartmentalize, Claire.

Weak Side Summary

I just told you,” he scoffed, acting as if I were stupid, but to his point, I did just completely blank out our conversation. “I have to go get things ready for my classes next week.” When I peeked over my shoulder at him, he had his hand on his chin, as if he were lost in thought. My blood rushed with his next question. “Why don’t you just live with him? It’s apparent he doesn’t enjoy the idea of you living with me.” Lastly, as much as I enjoyed reading this book, I hated to say this, but I thought the ending or at least the very last 10% of the book could be a wee bit more powerful by either providing insight into Theo and Claire’s near future, say, after their college graduation, or some more years afterwards, OR add a little twist and turn before wrapping everything up. The entire story basically revolved around their college years (junior and senior years in particular), so I personally thought it would be nice to learn more about their future instead of continually focusing on the present. Don’t get me wrong, the happy ending as promised was quite satisfying and I was truly content with the character development, plot design, and the overall writing style; it was just that this book might be even more eye-opening if the ending were slightly more unpredictable. My voice turned to ice as I pointed to the blonde. “Get out. You and the rest of campus knows that you don’t get to come into my room unless invited, and I didn’t invite you.” I could die right now.” There was a short pause, and I assumed whoever she was talking to had said something, because a clipped laugh left her that lingered with sarcasm. “Of course he brought it up. Leave it to my mother to try and seduce the dean to pay for my tuition. I was so embarrassed.” Her voice rose as she gulped in a breath of air. “And somehow, my mom was able to make me feel guilty for not appreciating her selflessness.”
