Supermarkets have pulled Russian Standard from shelves, due to the brand's links with Russia, where it is still made, in St Petersburg. Russian Standard (Russian: Ру́сский Станда́рт, tr. Rússkу Standárt, IPA: [ˈrusːkʲɪj stɐnˈdart]) is a major Russian company producing the vodka brand of the same name. The brand was founded by Roustam Tariko in 1998. Roust is the world’s 2nd largest vodka producer and owns a portfolio of multi-award-winning brands, which are testament to Roust’s commitment to producing superior quality liquids. Though, in the US, the import of Vodka brands from Russia is declining. In 2021, Russian brands only accounted for 1.3% of Vodka imports to the United States. [ 2] And you can bet that this number will be even lower in 2023.
