About this deal

AssimilatorIt will be obsoleted by Zen 5.Threadripper has its own cadence regardless when next Zen in released for desktop and server.

Telling me/us that "its not us, its them" pointing the finger at Microsoft does not a solution offer, and it as poignant as pitiable. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX installed in our test system is a top choice, as it's the fastest AMD Threadripper CPU to date. The processor combines a whopping 64 cores and even provides up to 128 threads thanks to SMT. This makes the CPU ideal for extremely optimized multithread applications that significantly exceed normal requirements. In our case, the processor has 256 GB RAM at its disposal, which isn't exactly modest even for a workstation. Such magnitudes are otherwise only found in servers. Many scenarios, such as virtual machines, can be implemented with this configuration. Users who still need a RAM drive can also grab a bit of the generous RAM without the system falling to its knees. Without getting too deep into technical aspects, users can for the most part expect premiere, video encoding and multi-tasking to operate more smoothly in Creative Mode. My oh my... for someone that would not know better, this is already a callous response... but for an enterprise IT solutions architect with 20 years experience, I'd say this:

3D performance

Editor's Note: the original version of this review included charts that inaccurately represented the benchmark data. This has been now corrected, but the data remains unchanged.]

It's nonsense to say that TR PRO 7000 will be "obsolete" next year in Q3 when desktop and/or server Zen 5 releases, because TR 8000 based on Zen 5 will release another year later and follow its own cadence. DavenStaggered releases… As with all leaked benchmarks, take these with a grain (or several) of salt. The Ryzen Threadripper Pro 7995WX scored 2,095 and 81,408 points on the single-and multi-core tests, respectively. Compared to the nearly identical Ryzen Threadripper Pro 5995WX submission, the new chip has a 26% higher single-core performance. In terms of multi-core performance, we're looking at around 49%. The exact numbers will likely differ slightly, so these values are more general ballpark figures. Oh and by the way, ALL CPU markets are artificially segmented. That’s by design. There is no natural, fundamental separation determined by physical laws of the universe.Plus, Zen 5 EPYC Turin dense should release around Computex next year.

Nov 13th 2023 Lenovo Announces the ThinkStation P8 Powered by AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series and NVIDIA RTX Graphics (14) Lenovo has been in the workstation segment for a long time, and it offers a solid platform based on the latest hardware with the ThinkStation P620 series. But the manufacturer doesn't use standard components here. On the contrary, a custom-developed platform is used, which is tailored to the needs of a workstation. In our test sample, the well-designed and modular case is equipped with no less than the most powerful AMD processor at the moment and AMD's latest workstation graphics card. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3995WX meets the AMD Radeon Pro W6800 is current, works perfectly fine and is a workhorse that could live another 5 to 6 years without feeling outdated. But the built-in graphics card is also essential for a workstation. In our case, the Lenovo ThinkStation P620 houses the brand-new AMD Radeon Pro W6800 with 32 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This GPU is based on the latest RDNA2 architecture, with which we're already familiar from the 6000-series gaming graphics cards. Real-time ray tracing is now supported natively. This means that the corresponding workloads can be processed much faster than before now. With up to six displays, the virtual workspace can be expanded nearly limitlessly. Alternatively, the AMD Radeon Pro W6800 also supports two simultaneous native 8K panels.
