About this deal

The Retrospective series is comprised of four shoulder bags and two lens changer bags. Created for the professional photographer that wants to blend in with the crowd and remain inconspicuous in any situation. Our product designers have blended the look and feel of “old-school” camera bags and infused it with “new-school” features and technology for the digital imaging age.”– thinktankphoto

At the top of the bag is a handle that runs the length of the bag. This is a very useful feature, and it can be put under the flap if not needed. Think Tank Retrospective 6 – our verdict I can only agree with you. For a shoulder bag that I intend to carry for a longer time a camera and 3 small lenses is the max. Caution: just recently there was a Retrospective V2.0 series introduced. They have a few nice additional features but personally I think they ruined the subtle design with those useless metal rings on the front. At the moment you can find many V1 models (the ones I am talking about here) at a discounted price. Go for it! There is nothing wrong with V1. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a “Retrospective Classic” or “V2.X” version with the original design (and full price) again rather sooner than later. Retrospective V2.0 The build quality is good but keep in mind that the bag is designed for urban use rather than adventure or nature photography, as dust or rough conditions can consume the materials more easily or leave some stains. Perhaps on the darker versions, the latter would be less noticeable. I enjoy this bag so much, I might just continue carrying it around, even when I am not hauling a camera with me! 5) Pricing and Where to Buy

Mark Edward Harris

In key respects, I find the Retrospective bag (almost) ideal for my scientific fieldwork in tropical countries, chiefly for its Portability, Flexibility and above all Unobtrusiveness – It is not ostentatious. Enough said :-) And I carry a Nikon D7200 or Df with my dinky 20mm f4, a 55 micro-nikkor (both wonderful instruments!), plus 1 to 2 of 3 medium zooms ( a 70-180 micro-nikkor, an AFD zoom or 10-24 DX Nikkor). If Nikon solve the current vagaries of the VR problems to my satisfaction, I also plan to add the new 300 f4 PF VR, with a TCE 1.4

There are two external compartments at the front and the rear of the bag to dump more bits and pieces into. The front compartment has folders to keep pens, memory cards, etc. The only reason I would want to put it in there is if it was raining and I didn’t have the waterproof cover as it doesn’t have the same level of protection from the elements. EDUCATION: Chris graduated Magna Cum Laude from Adelphi University with a degree in Communications in Journalism in 2009. Since then, he's learned and adapted to various things in the fields of social media, SEO, app development, e-commerce development, HTML, etc. However, I would probably use a 13″ laptop for the ease of handling within the bag and to reduce the carrying weight. The sternum straps aren’t removable, and I don’t use them much. It would have been a relatively simple option to make them removable with their current design. Think Tank’s Retrospective range is fairly old and well renowned among photographers. It consists of a range of messenger-style bags that suit everything from mirrorless to DSLR kits. Think Tank has now expanded the range with a brand-new size and colour. The new size is the Retrospective 6, which sits between the 5 and 7, giving users enough space to carry a large CSC kit or a medium-sized DSLR set-up.
