My personal favourite, though, was Sherman the tarantula, Theodora’s friend who’s “the cheese to her pizza”. He wears a top hat and monocles, and believes there isn’t a food that can’t be improved with strawberry jam.

Theodora goes to Appleton Primary School, where Ms Frumple has obviously been taking lessons in being a head teacher from the Trunchbull. We don’t like Ms Frumple. At all. If you think monsters don’t exist, just ask Theodora Hendrix. The second in a brilliantly funny new series, perfect for fans of Amelia Fang. This is the second book in the series, and despite not reading the first one… I really enjoyed it. The story tells of Theodora, a human who lives in a house on monsters with a mummy for a mummy, a spider for a pet and a secret room full of curses… Theodora goes to normal human school and has to fight injustice against their notoriously horrid headteacher. But whilst doing this she also has to find out the mystery of the beetles… and stop the evil monster headquarter inspector taking over too…

Sajnos, az előolvasó példány, amit a NetGalley-tól kaptam nem volt tökéletes. A képek el voltak csúszva, külön megnyitottam mobilon meg gépen a dokumentumot, és gépről olvastam, mobilon néztem a képeket, mert egész más oldalakon voltak a képek, mint kellett volna. Ezenkívül a könyv legvége sem volt meg a példányomban, képek alapján 1-2 fejezet maradt le, de összeségében már vége lett a sztorinak. Ettől függetlenül ez levon a szubjektív élményemből, normális példánynál ilyen gondok nem lesznek.

Theodora is a wonderful character. She’s strong, courageous and isn’t afraid of standing up for herself. Dexter, who compliments Theodora really well, is more reserved and much more concerned about following rules than his new friend.
