Whimsical, magical, warm and fuzzy: all the feelings a great Christmas story should inspire. Somehow, this book was all that and so much more. The newly divorced woman who is still struggling with her feelings of abandonment and loss touched me deeply, as did the lives of the people who lived in her farmhouse before her and the friends she makes in her journey this Christmas season. It was a good book, with little magic (true be told, I think that part is left for readers to interpret), with past and present intertwined. The hat comes trimmed with a broad band of deep-pile faux fur, and is adorned with a fluffy 3" (7 cm) diameter pompon – making it particularly festive. That said, the Santa suit thread was golden! I loved the way Andrews brought everything together. It was just the right amount of holiday magic, just the right amount of heartwarming, and just the right amount of whimsy and charm. A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, she earned a B.A. in journalism from The University of Georgia. After a 14-year career working as a reporter at newspapers including The Savannah Morning News, The Marietta Journal, and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she spent the final ten years of her career, she left journalism in 1991 to write fiction.

This book made me feel so warm and happy. If you want to get yourself in the holiday spirit I highly recommend it! 5 Santa suits for this one!

The first time I got acquainted with "The Santa Suit" was during the Christmas holidays of 2016, as I sat down for a Christmas movie marathon with my family. At first I wished it would explore more the small town our main character Ivy moved to after her divorce, and after I craved for more romance scenes. I must say that this movie actually turned out to be rather good, which was somewhat of a surprise. None of us had expected much from the movie, given the synopsis and the cast list. But "The Santa Suit" actually turned out to be a rather enjoyable movie. No, it's not a great film, but it's "good enough", one of those rare "Christmas movies" most viewers won't think was a waste of time. Ivy, still hurting and bitter from her recent divorce, which forced her to leave the company she helped build, is ready for a new start. Tired of the rat race in Atlanta, she decides to buy an old farmhouse—sight unseen—in the small town of Tarburton, NC. She hopes that this will be the jumpstart she needs to redo her life.

the mystery was underwhelming & the story felt extremely fake (just not believable enough) kinda like a hallmark movie & that’s not a compliment. This was a sweet story that I enjoyed reading. It may have been a tad predictable, but I didn’t mind that a bit! I received a copy of this book from St. Martin's Press and Netgalley in return for an unbiased review. When city girl Ivy ends up unexpectedly getting a divorice...well she decides to do something that some might think is a bit crazy...she buys an old farmhouse sight unseen...much to her surprise the house has quite the history.I was expecting a silly Christmas comedy, ha ha, a Scrooge executive is changed into Santa, learns the error of his ways (while making us laugh at his predicaments) and of course is magically transformed into the reformed Scrooge by the end. I expected nothing really special, but since it's rated 6.7 I expected to enjoy it. This story came along at the perfect time for me, even though I read it outside the Christmas season. Our main character, Ivy Perkins, just made it out of a divorce in Atlanta, and she has bought a farmhouse, sight unseen in North Carolina. Ohhhh my heart! ❤️ This book was everything I had hoped for and more! This was the absolute perfect way to ring in the holiday season! 🎅🎄 Recent divorcee Ivy decides to follow her dream of owning a “farm” by buying a house in North Carolina that she’s only seen in pictures. Taking a leap of faith, she is looking for a new start and a new outlook. She of course learns once she arrives, that the beautiful house has been in a state of disrepair since the owners passed away. She is constantly adding items to her punch, and wonders if she might be in over her head. She learns that the owners were crazy about Christmas and served as Ms. and Santa Clause for the town for years. Sure, this movie is as predictable and generic as you would assume, given the storyline and the presentation of aforementioned storyline. But still, writer Kevin Commins and director Robert Vaughn had managed to create a rather enjoyable Christmas movie. The Santa Suit is a marvelous read that brings a delightful visual to life; Old Time Santa in a small town and all of the memories that invokes as we grow older. This story is fresh and dreamy with a delightful cast of characters and a surprise twist that caught me! Memories of Christmases past and experiences for the kids today. When newly-divorced Ivy Perkins buys an old farmhouse sight unseen, she is definitely looking for a change in her life. The Four Roses, as the farmhouse is called, is a labor of love―but Ivy didn't bargain on just how much labor. The previous family left so much furniture and so much junk, that it's a full-time job sorting through all of it.A workaholic businessman discovers there is more to Christmas than a dollar. This simple premise has been adapted to countless Christmas films and plays. Disney made a famous variation with their "The Santa Clause" in the early 90s. In that film a businessman becomes Santa after a chance encounter with the elf. This film, "The Santa Suit" is a riff of that film. This time the businessman is forced to have the appearance of Santa. Have you ever read an author that can just bring the magic and story right to life for you as you are reading? It is a tough skill to master. I read her last publication earlier this year and Andrews was able to get me hooked with her visualization skills of the story.

Wrong. I laughed and smiled a few times early on, but basically I found this to be a very touching movie as Kevin Sorbo more and more saw himself as others saw him, and he didn't like it. That his singular focus on the bottom line hurt others, and worst of all, that he didn't even care. I was especially moved by his retelling of his Christmas bike story. I liked that his transformation was gradual, and not a light switch. I would only say that I wish Hallmark had sold 2 or 3 minutes less of commercials, so that the exposition of the new person he had become could have been more gradual. Kevin Sorbo portrays the businessman Drake Hunter. Drake gives the appearance of a ruthless, dispassionate man who in his words built the business his father founded. Hunter Toys makes mostly cheap, breakable toys that are probably made in China. They also make a Princess Doll which is the only high quality product they manufacture, which is the last remnant of Drake's father. The deluxe version of the Santa suit is made of top quality materials: soft and strong fleece, in a deep red colour, trimmed with a 4" (10 cm) wide band of ecru faux fur (2"/4.5 cm pile). Thanks to such details the costume makes a striking impression! Wash your suit after work in your own washing machine without any risk of getting colour on the trim. i would’ve dnfed it but i didn’t bc again i did enjoy some aspects & i was fine with reading a cheese fest but i did find a lot of stuff if not all of it annoying but it wasn’t that bad.
