I love writing romance because it's about emotions and relationships. Human nature hasn't changed a bit since Eve coveted the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Settings change. Plots change. Names change. Times change. But love is love and men and women have been falling in and out of it forever. Romance is about emotions: love, hate, anger, laughter... all of it. If I can make you laugh until your sides ache or grab a tissue then I've touched your emotions and accomplished what every writer sets out to do. When Maggie blows into town, I can’t help but feel inspired by her desire to reinvent herself and when she asks for the local handyman, it becomes the perfect opportunity to provide Archer with purpose and perhaps, a little bit of sunshine.
There is a sweet love story within this book and I loved it. It was tender and sweet and healing. Both Maggie and Archer have had sorrow in their past marriages. They were an unlikely couple but their pain and desire for healing and moving forward helped them to see what they deserved to have in a relationship. I loved it. There were several scenes that just melted my heart with these two and had me sighing and cheering for them. Even when it seemed that the odds were completely against them. *happy sigh* I couldn’t help but wonder if their sparkling group played a roll in the creation of Flossy,Dotty, and Lucy. Content: Clean. Some talk of divorce, death of a child, a parent with Alzheimers and some kissing but nothing further.

To Maggie’s utter surprise, her mother agrees. Any funds she can create off the sale of the dilapidated family inn on the island of Magnolia would be hers to invest. Sugar and her husband are ready to retire and travel across country, so they leave half of the B&B to Jolene and half to her cousin Rueben. Sugar has big plans, but no money. Rueben hates his memories of the B&B and decides to sell. Slowly, but surely the old inn is refurbished and the pair find they are friends and they both start to look toward the future. If only they can let go of the past. This was a sweet, clean wonderful story filled with healing, friendship, romance and second chances and ended with a happy ever ending. I can't wait to learn about Clementine's story.
The local airport, Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport, is a 15-minute drive away, and Tocumen International Airport is a 30-minute drive from the property. Brittany Pressley is a great match for group who were mostly Texan with one of the older ladies, Dotty having some Cajun. She paced well with the story and had a good grasp of the tone needed through each change of emotion and situation. Her work enhanced the story and I enjoy that she does several of Brown's books. The Magnolia Inn by Carolyn Brown is a slow burning contemporary romance. The story brings two flawed characters together for their shot at a happily ever after over the course of several months time. In 2021, Pinehurst Resort acquired one of the Village of Pinehurst’s most iconic hotels, The Magnolia Inn, and Villaggio Ristorante & Bar. I feel uncomfortable reading detailed sex scenes. This book focuses on the healing process of the two main characters before allowing themselves into a new relationship.
