About this deal

Something akin to excitement flared to life inside Wilbur and he disentangled himself from around Phil to stand shoulder to shoulder with him. Wilbur’s hands shook just like the night he first played his guitar, the most primal of his daydreams unfolding before him. He felt powerful standing over the man, drinking in the unbridled terror like a parched man to water. This is where he was meant to be. Also, the author was really promising a great deal of a “new” vampire story. No creepy age difference, which was appreciated. It would have been nice without the weird girl vs girl moment. Majority of the writing was immature, it would have been interesting if the author had managed to deviate from the early 2000s and produced something less competitive. Positive female relationships are amazing, but also so is not type writing the only other female character as a bitch who’s attracted to the male lead. Are you going to kill me?" Wilbur whispered, heart hammering in his throat, eyes lowered to the ground. All through his youth he had heard the whispers of monsters in the night, learned the deep-seated fear that came with deep shadows and quiet corners and the dead of night. People disappeared, found dead days later, empty husks with their faces frozen in pain and terror. Some people were never found. He knew the stories, but somewhere in the last year, he forgot to fear them. Now he was gonna die for his arrogance. He wasn't prepared for the Man to laugh inches from his face, his footsteps as silent as the night around them. Wilbur flinched. Friends are the threads that weave together the fabric of our lives, forming a tapestry of chosen kinship.”

You were lost in your head. Its' closing time." She said curtly, still looking wary. He shook his head and stood, muscles protesting weakly after hours of disuse. He mildly wondered if that would still happen if he turned. Wren is in constant fear that someone will find out who she is – a bloodwitch. Her powers are unpredictable, powerful and completely against the law. After escaping from the rebels, Wren finds out that her sister has also been abducted and strikes a deal with her own ruler, Singard — the use of her powers in exchange for assistance in finding her sister. Singard reluctantly agrees and their fragile alliance is born. And that’s the only reason I haven’t killed you yet. Now unless you want to be plagued with filthy thoughts about me, witch, I suggest you turn around so I can dress. It’s your turn to bathe—you stink.” laying on the storage room cot, He had dreamed of crows and fangs and blood. And every night after. His days were spent reading, devouring every book that mentioned vampires at all, looking for any answers they could give, any hint into who that man truly was. Phil had been Power and predator and Man all rolled into one. Wilbur yearned for more. So he read and read and read. Romance? No. If you want a slow burn that burns so slow you don't get a kiss - even in the epilogue - then sure. But there is no actual romance or love in this story. She grabs his wrist and that's about it. Even their final "proclamation" of love is FILLED with the word "hypothetical," and I mean that literally.I smiled, wiping a few tears. "No. You didn't. I'd do it all again. All of the good. The bad. To meet you." As characters, Wren and Sin are flawed, but I continued rooting for them through all of the angst. Wren is a strong and sassy woman who you don’t want to cross, while Sin is legit SWOONY and complex as a morally grey character. I kid you not when I tell you that I was on the edge of my seat, waiting for them to get together and when they did... The Bound by Blood series will be a trilogy. Book 2 is currently with my publisher, and I am almost halfway through the first draft of Book 3. I am so excited (impatiently so) to be able to share Book 2 with readers because the character arcs that are in store for these two… I adore the trajectory of their relationship, and love watching as they work through all the wonderfully horrible obstacles I am obligated to throw at them as their author. The beauty of family is that it extends beyond genetics; it’s the connections that resonate on a deeper level.”

Good, then they'll know you're mine. Wren-what a pretty name. Let's see if you sing like one too."….Be careful, Wilbur. The Hunters say there's more out there and that people should stay inside. It's late. People are disappearing, Wilbur." Something in His chest twisted over the fact she cared. He smirked, keeping his gaze soft. Though it wasn’t like Tommy hadn’t had his run-ins. The vampires sent after him were brutal, each wave getting stronger. He was clearly pissing someone off now the way they sent in practically an army to deal with him. The last run-in had been the worst, leaving Tommy crawling out of the fight barely holding onto his life. A few cuts and bruises and a large gash on his side that refused to heal. This book ended on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the next book. I need to know what happens with Sin and Wren. I wanted to understand the magic system a bit more & have less descriptions on the plant life (yes the flowers are pretty but what type of magic does she have and how does she use it?)
