About this deal

I use a mini X86 box instead of a raspberry. It's more expensive, but more versatile, with a better power supply. The SVBONY SV105 is a bit light-sensitive, more than a webcam, and I’ve had some friends confirm this. Using sharpcap 3.1 that came with the camera. I have used varying settings trying to get a better image. I am using a diagonal. I tried using it throughout the lunar eclipse both with and without the lunar filter. I would have thought this an idea time to get some kind of images but just shadowy screen was all I could accomplish. Should I be able to see something terrestrial with this thing? Also: Try without the diagonal first. Only if you can't reach focus should you try with the diagonal.

Some people successfully use SVBONY SV105 as a guiding camera, but it is not an ideal solution. It’s a different story with a dedicated guiding camera. Then: It sharpcap, use exposures that are very short for the daytime test. I think 15ms was the minimum. Something between 15ms and at most 250ms should suffice for the daytime test. Gain/brightness should be maxed. Work the focuser very slowly until an image forms. You should be able to image daytime targets such as trees or license plates. If you can't try adding the diagonal. If you still can't then something is odd The most important specification for a planetary camera is the resolution and frames per second (FPS).Seeing conditions were not optimal in any of the images. Still waiting for a good night so I can push the limit of the camera. Despite the title, this article applies equally to AstroDMx Capture for Linux and AstroDMx Capture for macOS and also to the SV205 camera. After our customers used the Svbony SV105 astronomy camera for some times, all the default data have been changed. So it may lead to this problem when you reconnect the Svbony SV105 camera to your computer again. However, please don’t worry. Just restore the default data, this problem will be fixed. Here are the steps: SVBONY SV105 camera uses USB2.0 type, so make sure you have at least USB2.0 available. Of course, it will also work in USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 slots. Necessary software for SVBONY SV105 Camera Next Up was Saturn but Seeing degraded while it was in prime position, so I managed to get a decent photo but I’m certain with calmer skies I can get the Cassini division between the two larger rings. Q9: what if the frame rate is slow when the camera is connected to the computer? A9: since the frame rate is low in YUY2 mode (original image mode), try to select MJPG format (compressed format) in the software. Q10: What is the equivalent focal length of an eyepiece for the sv105/205/305 camera? A10: All astronomical cameras are light-sensitive chips, which only play the role of imaging and shooting. They are not comparable with eyepieces.Astronomy cameras are always made for a specific purpose. So we have planetary cameras with high FPS and cameras for deep sky imaging capable of doing long exposures. How to capture the best images I connected it to my Celestron EdgeHD as its 2023mm native zoom (10,000mm with the 5X powermate I also happen to own) and 8″ diameter makes it my only “planetary” telescope as larger apature generally is better when imaging planets or the moon for getting details. SVBony SV105 connected to the Celestron EdgeHD8 pointed at the moon. Finaly, connect 1.25" SV105 electronic eyepiece to your telescope, then you could take photos on your computer and save the files. Also you could capture a vivid video. If you need change the specifications to make the images more beautiful as you need, manually adjust Gain, Contrast, Exposure Time, Frame rate and Color Saturation on the right side table.

Overall, it’s adequate for beginners interested in lunar and planetary imaging. How to use the SVBONY SV105 camera Work out terrestrial first. It's much simpler and will enable you to work out many kinks before trying with the moon.

Q15:Is SV205 camera suitable for deep space photography? A15:The SV205 camera has only one second exposure time, which is not suitable for deep space photography.

SV105 works well with telescope focal lengths in 400mm to 800mm range so using a refractor telescope with this focal length should allow seeing a clear image without any accessories. Haven't done any AP since the film days, and am ignorant in most all aspects of imaging from hardware to software.. Been enjoying all of your captures - but there are times I wanted to capture a really good prom . I'd be dependent on someone catching what I saw, and posting it. The image is not uniform and this is the result of pixel vignetting. Such an image is a flat-field. It will be noticed if you look carefully, that there are a number of dust spots on the image. This is my setup showing the SV105 camera attached to the Celestron 70mm Travelscope. The camera and the Celestron CGEM mount are both attached to a laptop.
