Soundcore Life A3i: Conclusion The Anker Soundcore Life A3i wireless earbuds provide a great connection and connect immediately when you take the buds out of the charging case. Strong and stable within a distance up to 10 meters away from your Bluetooth devices. But some that I feel disappointed, the multipoint connection is not available. That means can’t connect these cheap wireless earbuds to two devices at the same time, which is like many Anker Soundcore wireless earbuds. The equalizer has 22 presets, which help you customize the buds for different types of music.Update July 18th, 2022 : As a firmware update fixed a previous Transparency mode issue, the overall score is now increased from 4.5 to 5 stars! Most Anker headphones have an integrated mic, which sits far away from your mouth. As a result, their mics tend to have poor recording quality and mediocre noise-handling performance. At first glance, the overall external body is similar to Life A1 and Life Dot 2. The Anker Soundcore Life A3i has mini ear wings, which give a more secure fit while wearing. They provide three sizes of ear tips like other general wireless earbuds which give the additional different sizes of ear tips. If you choose the right size and put the right position in your ear for the most secure fit and comfortable for a long listening session. The earbuds come with 10mm drivers that are quite big and you must place earbuds in your ears in the right position to perfect noise reduction. In the instruction manual, don’t wear earbuds horizontally because it will affect the noise reduction effect of the ANC. And it really is. The other significant addition comes in the form of hybrid noise canceling. As respectable as the isolation was on the old models, I was curious to see how this added to the experience.

Soundcore updates one of our favorite values in wireless earbuds. Compared to the Spirit Dot 2 and Life A1, the Life A3i has a looser fit as rubber ear-wings are missing. It also doesn't have the wireless charging of these models. Comfort, call quality, battery life, and controls are all better on the A3i though - not to mention the availability of ANC. You can switch from between ANC on, ANC off and the Transparency mode on the Life Dot 3i/ Life A3i by holding the side button. The functions are indicated by beeps that are too much alike, but the Active Noise Cancelling itself is great.Especially on higher volumes, the A20i sounds full, warm, and energetic. Like some of the best Soundcore's, it can also sound big - immersive around you. The A20i's sound character works wonderfully for instrumental genres like dance and techno, for most pop, and for warm acoustic genres like jazz and blues. If you need a little more treble, like for classical genres, the Treble Booster preset from the app may be an outcome, extending highs (and inducing a bit of harshness and sibilance; sss-tones), while not taking away too much from the lows. There are also soundscapes with different types of ambient sounds to help with sleep. Anker has also released the LÜM music service which features a ton of very talented artists. It also features battery level indicators to help you keep tabs on when it’s time to charge your earbuds. Still, with the difference between treble on lower and higher volume, the Life A3i is a curious thing. It perhaps best compared to a modern hot hatch car with a sports button near the wheel. It drives easily, friendly and perhaps even a bit dull, out to give you a smooth ride for everyday use. The sound quality is good and loud enough in this price range. The Life A3i does not provide severe bass. In terms of sound quality, it can’t compare to expensive wireless earbuds like Sony WF-1000XM3, Bose QuietComfort wireless earbuds, or also Sennheiser Momentum true wireless 2 as well. But the lows, mids, and highs are well balanced. However; the one advantage is the Life A3i offers preset 22 equalizers, you can choose and try the sound you like. Conversely, EQ modes must be switched through the app. This is probably a good thing, as scrolling through 20-plus settings with a tiny button would get tedious in a hurry.These are no different. They sound okay once you customize the EQ because nobody needs 22 different variations and base up is really just a flat EQ with enhanced bass. The touch controls of the Soundcore A20i mark one of their only issues. While the touch panels respond well to your input and you can setup the controls the way you want via the free Soundcore app for Android and iPhone, it takes a little while before your commands are followed up. Soundcore does what JBL doesn't: these are the earbuds equivalent of JBL's Flip Bluetooth-speakers, with a solid amount of bass and warmth, and prominent vocals above it.
