About this deal

We loved its cool aesthetic too. In brushed stainless steel, it looks really modern and is probably one of the more 'stylish' air fryer toaster ovens out there. Its one obvious downside is that hefty price tag but if you've got the cash to spend, it's a brilliant investment for your kitchen. The capacity of this air fryer toaster oven is 15 liters and has 3 rails for trays. We found when cooking on multiple shelves it was necessary to swap the levels so that everything cooked evenly. We cooked two pizzas simultaneously on separate shelves and found the one closest to the top browned much faster. Alongside pre-sets for certain food groups such as pizza, crumpet and toast, the Smart Oven Air Fryer offers a range of temperature and time options. This allows you to tweak the timings and temperatures as you see fit, both before and during a cooking cycle. So, for example, if something comes out undercooked, you can easily use the control dial to experiment with various cooking times and temperatures until you get it right. Size: An air fryer will typically be smaller than a toaster oven, making them better suited to smaller kitchens and easier to store on organized countertops. A toaster oven will often boast a bigger capacity that's suited to larger food items, or bigger quantities.

Create delicious meals with one-touch smart menus that utilise inverter technology to apply the right power consistently. Some countertop microwave oven features a stainless steel interior or a high quality grey fascia and uses convection power. An air fryer is a countertop kitchen appliance that makes it possible to achieve similar results to a pan or fryer without submerging food in oil. Instead, air fryers only require a small about of oil to circulate hot air around the drawer and crisp up food in a short amount of time. With a higher-than-average temperature option of 230C, rather than the usual 200C, the Sage the Smart Oven Air Fry can cook food faster than many other air fryers, although it does take a bit longer to heat up. There’s no doubt that the design and build quality on offer from the Sage the Combi Wave 3 in 1 helps to justify its price tag. The unit is very nicely put together, with plenty of brushed stainless steel on show, both inside and out. This is topped off by an internal light when you open the door that helps make your food look even more appealing.Much like a standard oven, the air fryer won’t turn off if you open its door half-way through a cooking cycle. You’ll need to take care when handling the trays and shaking the contents of the basket mid-way through cooking, too. When it comes to noise, the Smart Oven Air Fryer is fairly quiet in operation – humming away at an average 57dB in use, as measured by our Decibel Meter App. You can cook individually, use the same setting on both drawers or, cleverly, use different settings on each drawer but have them synchronise to finish at the same time. There are options to air fry, max crisp (a 240C turbo setting), roast, reheat, dehydrate or bake. As with the other Proscenic products that we’ve reviewed, the Proscenic T22 is a smart product. It can connect to your Wi-Fi giving you control via the app or even Alexa. The app gives remote control, plus a load of recipes: you still have to do the prep and cooking, but you get step-by-step instructions and the air fryer will be set to the correct settings. Offering incredible value for money is Russell Hobbs' Express Air Fry Mini Oven. Combining five cook functions with a generously sized capacity, we found it passed the all-important fries test (crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), and it's also great for cooking freezer food, pizza, fresh bread, tray bakes, and more. This means you need to factor in preheating to the cooking time, and be around to put food in when it beeps to start the countdown. One advantage it has, though, is a higher maximum temperature than most air fryers – 230ºC instead of an average 200ºC.

The feature we were particularly pleased to see is the air fryer’s ample viewing window, which allows you to peer in to view your food while it’s cooking. Not all air fryers come with a viewing window, so we welcomed its inclusion here. Sage’s the Combi Wave 3-in-1 does all that and quite a bit more. With more power, settings and functions than you can possibly imagine, it’s so much more than just a microwave. If you’ve been dreaming of owning a mini oven or air fryer but don’t have the room, you’re staring the solution right in the face – if you’re willing to stump up the cash. Sage the Combi Wave 3-in-1 review: What you need to know As mentioned, with 10 cooking functions Breville the Smart Oven Air Fryer has plenty to offer. Its pizza setting, for example, is ideal for Pizza Fridays, while a roast feature delivers the same benefits of a convection oven, albeit in a smaller 22-liter capacity. There’s even a toast setting that can be used to get breakfast ready in minutes. Ease of maintenance: Cleaning an air fryer or toaster oven is typically a very easy task and therefore minimal effort to look after.Quality of food: both air fryers and toaster ovens promise to cook your favorite dishes to perfection. Food should be perfectly crisped and cooked just as well – if not better –as if it had spent time in a "proper" oven vs an air fryer. The good news about its exterior bulk is the way that the Sage the Combi Wave 3 in 1 features plenty of space on the inside. If you’ve got a family that needs to be catered for then this appliance also comes armed with plenty of power, with 1100 watts for the microwave and 1550 watts for the convection oven element. As for capacity the insides can handle 32 litres, which is sizeable enough to prepare a plentiful supply of food no matter what the mealtime might be. This feeling of luxury continues on to the soft-close door, which isn’t something you know you need until you’ve used it. It’s noticeably nicer to open and close than my everyday, mid-price microwave which like most others, has a rather clunky open and shut mechanism. Heating elements: An air fryer is a convection oven that circulates hot air throughout the appliance. A toaster oven will typically have two heating elements, one at the top and one at the bottom of the appliance.
