About this deal

I too binned my Proviz winter gloves - they were decent for warmth and fantastic for visibility but leaked like a sieve if the rain looked at them funny. As I mentioned above, the biggest pull for me is the fact that it is compatible with hydration bladders. This is a great feature which I know that a lot of distance runners will be happy with. I have used a luminous yellow Adidas running gilet that I used to use in the winter months to help me be seen. You can see the huge amount of difference there is in the two tops. There’s no doubting waterproofing. Squalls have passed by and longer periods of steady rain have made no impact.

The fabric isn't waterproof, merely water resistant, but the zips are YKK AquaGuard water resistant, and the bag does a good job of keeping short showers out. It takes quite a soaking before you have to worry about soggy sandwiches and underwear, and that is perhaps the only potential downside for daily commuters who have no choice but to ride in the rain. Please note, that whilst these items were provided to me free of charge to test, the review and opinions are my own. I have not been put under pressure or influenced to write favorably or otherwise by the Proviz team. On my run, I couldn’t help but notice just how bright it was. A brief look down every now and again and my torso was lit up like a bright white beacon. At this point, I think it is worth me mentioning that I was wearing a head torch, hence why I could see the light reflecting. One thing I didn't mention earlier was, for all the apparent simplicity of most waterproof trousers, that doesn't normally stop manufacturers from charging top dollar and I've tested plenty that sometimes lurk around the three-figure mark.

I would like to thank Proviz for giving me the opportunity to test these great products for the Running Bible community. I needed to tighten the strap a little whilst I was running and this was as easy as you would hope for it to be. A gentle pull on the strap and it was nicely adjusted. As we discussed in our guide to surviving the winter chill, you should aim to dress for temperatures 10 degrees warmer than what they are outdoors to allow for the heat that you will generate during a run. Also it may just have been mine but I found the material quite fragile. Poked a brake lever from my folder through it gettng off a train. tbf it may have been a fluke - no other holes in the 4 odd years I've owned it and the material may have changed anyway. For waterproofing I think mine has fully wetted out once in the time I've had it - that was in utterly torrential rain though. So it's a slight shame about the breathability issue because in all other respects these are excellent overtrousers that offer great value for money. If you can live with sweaty legs or only plan to use them in the depths of winter – when that enhanced reflectivity will really come into its own – they remain a decent option. Verdict

Doing a review of this nature would not be complete without comparing this reflect 360 technology with an off the shelf alternative. Otherwise, fit is really good and these 'large' trousers actually flattered my 38in waist. No XL needed here – thank you Proviz. Leg length is enough for my 6ft frame without being too long. And pedalling performance in general was very impressive with no worries about the kind of slipping around in the saddle that can accompany other waterproofs. Value and conclusion On the other hand, when the snow (and freezing rain) started to fall the 360+ did an excellent job of keeping the elements out, leaving me warm and dry. Riding in several winter rainstorms, I never got wet, and never felt under dressed. I agree with Rendel's suggestion that the Nightrider, with the reflective stuff top and bottom, would be more versatile. I think its visibilty would be better in the daytime, but also at night if you are riding dark country roads. Proviz's Reflect360 waterproof trousers, though, manage to add just enough useful additions to the typical overtrouser formula without overdoing novelty for novelty's sake.Proviz's Reflect360 Waterproof Trousers are decent overtrousers that do their two main intended jobs well, keeping you protected from the weather and easily visible in poor conditions. However, breathability is not their strong suit and you're going to get clammy if you work up a sweat. I do think the CRS colour versions lose quite a bit of the visual impact at night compared to the grey version - they dont light up as distinctly - I'd like to see a grey/colour combo. I have been intrigued with this brand for some time now. I have seen many ads on social media and a fair few people out and about in the gear. You can’t help but notice just how bright they are, and I mean, they are incredibly bright. I have very much enjoyed testing these products as they provide you with an extra feeling of safety when running in the evening.

The Science of Illumination: Millions of micro-beads reside within the fabric, when hit by an external light source, light up and reflect the light, giving you maximum visibility! This offers drivers a heightened advance glimpse, empowering them to anticipate your presence and manoeuvre appropriately.

The area in which I run in has a lot of uneven footpaths, so it is not uncommon to find myself running in the road for a more even surface. I felt a lot safer wearing something this visible. I must add that I do also wear a head torch with front and rear lights. The testing season – winter – hasn’t allowed much in the way of warm weather. However, getting up to around fifteen to sixteen mph, with occasional bursts up to twenty, have seen things keep pretty temperate on mild days, say around 7C. Just remember that a technical shell benefits from technical layer beneath. Daylight Sophistication: A subtle and tasteful design that harmonises effortlessly with your daytime attire, ensuring you stand out seamlessly in any setting. Its breathability rating is 10,000+gm/24hr, which is fine for shorter or more sedate rides. On longer days, though, especially ones that involve strenuous climbs, this rating isn't enough to deal with the condensation that will eventually soak through baselayers. Proviz says: "The REFLECT360 trousers are a rugged, hard-wearing waterproof and breathable trouser designed specifically to ensure you arrive at your destination dry on those wet and windy days. The elements will be kept out yet the breathable fabric will enable heat to escape.
