About this deal

The Python Water change system is definitely one of the best options out there when considering a gravel vacuum. One end of the T fitting will attach to an adapter, and that goes to the faucet. The other end will have the shut off valve on it and the ‘T’ in the middle has the pressure rated filler hose attached. I won’t know if it will work until I try it but, I am hopeful. Very easily… as water passes through the faucet pump it creates the siphon and starts to pull water from the tank out to your sink. You can then change the water direction by adjusting the bottom of the faucet pump. A simple pull and turn will instantly change the water direction. What We Liked About The Python Water Change System Oddly, I found that the 3/4″ size barb just fitted inside the 5/8″ braided hose, which was handy. I have the band clamps snugged down as tightly as possible and it’ll be interesting to see if I get any leakage at the ends or not. I had to use a small hammer to push those 3/4″ barbs into the hose so, should be snug enough.

Last week while doing a water change on the Cichlid tank the safety ????thingy did its job perfectly. A large convict cichlid somehow got in the gravel tube but didn’t get near the dangerous end. No tragic accident occurred! Whew! While the design of other water changers may look similar, at a lower price, it came at the sacrifice of quality – something that Python didn’t trade off. But before I reveal the best water changers on the market, I want to highlight a flaw we noticed, and it affected every water changer we tested… The one problem with ALL water changers When properly used, each and every water changer we tested was more than capable of siphoning water from our test aquarium and filling it up with fresh water from the faucet – without leaks or mess. I could just use the hand held Python Gravel Cleaner for water changes, but I don’t thinks it’s as stable/carefree (draping over the tank) during water changes.

Assessing the DIY Python Water Changer:

Unfortunately, this meant that we had to spend a long time cleaning the Hydromaxx to ensure that every last bit of dust was gone before using it.

way tap outlet(with flow levers) (if you want to also run your washing machine off the same tap like i did) You raise an excellent point and it is one often debated in the community, when to add the dechlorinator and how harmful is it? Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, it hasn’t been studied and we can only go off anecdotal evidence. My DIY version will not have any compression fittings. They will be threaded fittings only, with teflon pipe tape on the threads. For deep cleaning, I would advise you to aim the Python water changer at areas with more waste buildup. With this handy Python water change system, you’ll get sparkling clean water without the scrubbing. Choosing the Right Python Size for Your Setup Make sure to glue this assembly together before you use the shut-off valve as the pressure could blow fittings off and make a mess. There are four different water changer kits available, and the only difference between them is the length: Me? I want to spend as little time maintaining my tank as possible. It leaves me with more time to stare at my lovely little fish.
