About this deal

Both the Chaplain and the Judiciar had their skeleton ribs painted the same as the skeleton on the Ancient’s banner, Rakarth Flesh and then Flayed One Flesh. To make the gold details stand out even more, use Liberator Gold to highlight the edges and corners. This adds a brilliant sheen. Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons:

During the Declare Battle Formations step, for each Leader in your army, if your army also includes one or more of that Leader’s Bodyguard units, you can select one of those Bodyguard units. That Leader will then attach to that Bodyguard unit for the duration of the battle and is said to be leading that unit. Each Bodyguard unit can only have one Leader attached to it. Objective markers represent objects of tactical or strategic import that both sides are attempting to secure, such as valuable artefacts, vital supplies or communications nodes. If a mission uses objective markers, it will state where they are located on the battlefield. These can be represented using any suitable marker, but we recommend using round markers that are 40mm in diameter. I had some thoughts while I spent time on that novella I call a forum post about Templars so I'll quote some combos I noticed from that:If the Tactical Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Assault Doctrine is now active. Mighty heroes fight at the forefront of battle. Some CHARACTER units have ‘Leader’ listed on their datasheets. Such CHARACTER units are known as Leaders, and the units they can lead – known as their Bodyguard units – are listed on their datasheet. Canticle of Hate:  Core or Character unit within 6" of the Priest gets +2" to charge, and an additional 3" when piling in. Pair with Devout Push to allow you to move up to 12" by piling in 6" twice. The other big reason to take the codex litanies since it makes charges easier, allows us to really push into the enemy lines, or completely encircle the enemy unit with a large Crusader squad. Leadbelcher basecoat then Ironbreaker layer on the metals – gun, chest eagle, and in this case the soft bits of the armour

After years of collecting, buying and selling, building and painting, we realised that we had amassed a small library of Build Instructions, Assembly Instructions and User Guides for various Games Workshop products. You then make a Charge roll for the charging unit by rolling 2D6. The result is the maximum number of inches each model in that unit can be moved if a Charge move is possible. For a Charge move to be possible, the Charge roll must be sufficient to enable the charging unit to end that move: The second is a support build (Bufflain) to enhance the rest of your army. The combo of Canticle of Hate and Litany of Hate will get your units into melee and ensure they hit hard when they get there. Give him the Icon of the Angel and units like Hammernators have an 82% chance of pulling off a charge from Reserves! The Primaris Chaplain on Bike is a Space Marine HQ choice. These elite warriors and leaders are the spiritual leaders of the chapters and help with indoctrination of new recruits. On the battlefield, they inspire their brothers to do great deeds and punish heretics. This bike-mounted version is a fast melee-focused unit, that doubles support unit with its powerful buffs. Why They Are GoodThat’s all nice and easy! The challenging bit comes after that – the armour. There are a lot of edges to Mk 10 power armour, never mind Gravis, so this takes a fair amount of time. My first layer of highlighting comes from hitting all the edges with Altdorf Guard Blue, and then following up with a thinner highlight of Calgar Blue. This takes forever, but it also makes the edges really sharp. Of the other options, since I like them jump units the VV "hero" has some appeal, and I really do need to use jump VV again (footslogging is such a chore). Personally I'd give the "ablative" models a storm shield or two too, though. And knowing myself I'd probably just end up making it a squad of 10 with additional upgrades. Hah. Slightly off topic, but I think you can achieve similar results with a captain (chapter master specifically) on bike. If you give him the Angel Artifice (which is appropriately named...) you even get toughness 6 out of the deal. You'd have more kitting options that way, though a little less utility.

Following the release of the 9 th edition Supplement, there is no better time to discuss all the units we have access to. Each week a different unit will appear, with the idea being that we discuss how best to use that model on the battlefield. Where part one will focus on the unique BA units and part two will focus on BA units that are new to this edition of the Codex, part three will discuss how to get the best use the generic units from the past that are still with us (and that many of us have in our armies still), and part four will discuss the Legends units that we still own and love. Finally, part five will be dedicated to the reinforcements from Forge World.

Master of Sanctity

x33 plastic components to assemble the Chaplain on his Raider-pattern bike. The kit also includes both helmeted and unhelmeted heads to allow for customization. Despite our best efforts to split everything, Liam and I did end up with a bit of overlap as there are some things in here that are just too cool not to paint. Liam hopped in and painted up a unit of Eradicators, and I painted up the Judiciar as soon as I’d finished my main commitment. Silent angry dude with a big sword is just too cool not to paint.

On the Eradicators, I wanted to do something a little different with their melta rifles. The barrels are painted Brass Scorpion, then Sycorax Bronze, washed Seraphim Sepia, and then some Brass Scorpion re-layered at the business end of the barrel. This is a lazy way to simulate the heat-staining effect you can see on the studio models. I did a similar thing on the engines for the Outrider’s bikes. The big advantage of Biker Chaplains is that they move fast and that Litanies hit at the start of the round. This means you could potentially use one Chaplain to boost another one, and then send that particular Champion off to wreak havoc and crush enemies. The absolute best possible combination for this are White Scars, who have the ability to Advance and charge and deal extra damage in the Assault Doctrine. With that in mind just how absurdly powerful could a Biker Chaplain get? I also like the litany of hate (not real creative in name here, but whatever) - I find that even if I make a charge, sometimes an assault is a total dud. Namely, death company with thunder hammers or fists hitting on a 4+ is not great at all. As a counter point, Death guard have some shenanigans to prevent re-rolls & auras. I'm sure other armies do as well. Ask before the game starts, you'll need to adjust your plans. Legend has it that the golden, skull-faced death mask known as the Emperor's Judgement was crafted in the years following the Horus Heresy, and its crimson, crystal eye lenses are imbued with droplets of his own lifeblood. Regardless of the truth of its origins, several influential Masters of Sanctity have been granted the honour of wearing the Emperor's Judgement in battle. Both heretics and xenos cower in the face of its grim majesty. Our goal is to build upon and consolidate the great work already being done by other community members across various forums, reddit threads, and hobby blogs, and bring together a comprehensive library of all these useful Build Instruction booklets.Other than that, the way I painted them is the same as all my other Crimson Fists, as per one of our very earliest HTPEs and extracted below for convenience: The Deathwatch utilise a range of specialised bolt shells in many of their weapons. From rounds that douse their targets in acid to hollow shells filled with superheated gas, each type is designed to eliminate specific xenos foes. Each time a unit is selected to shoot, if it contains any models that are equipped with a weapon with this ability, then before you select any targets, each weapon with this ability can fire special-issue ammunition. If any do, select one of the ammunition types below for that weapon; until the end of the phase, each time that weapon is fired, apply the modifiers and abilities associated with that special-issue ammunition:
