About this deal

Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to I want to share one other sentiment Sharon would share with me all the time, “I got a rich and good Daddy, I have nothing to worry about.” Do you see? As believers, we have direct access to God’s presence. We can speak with Him like speaking to a friend any time we want to, because He’s right there with us and in us. It is by being in the presence of God that you’re able to know who he is. You also get to see why he loves you so much and your identity in Christ.

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. ~ John 14:16-18 NIV The big issues in my life. These often come into my mind, so I commit them to God, ask for his wisdom, and pray that he would work out his good purposes in my life. We can see this throughout the Bible. Before Saul could become king, the presence of the Lord filled him up, and he became a different person.Speaking in tongues is a huge key to being able to remain aware of God’s presence. The apostle Paul said that he spoke in tongues more than the entire Corinthian church (1 Corinthian 14:18). And he also commanded that the church should pray in tongues at all times (Ephesians 6:18).

It’s my constant aim to keep connected to God throughout my day. It’s hard though, and there are MANY reasons for that. In fact, that could be a whole other post! It reminds me of one research study that found that washing dishes mindfully can help you feel more relaxed and less stressed ( Source). If we take that mindful awareness of the experience of washing dishes, and add awareness of God’s presence, it transforms a simple, everyday chore into an act of worship and gratitude for the Lord’s loving involvement in our present experiences.

So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:6–8) With that, I’ve come to realize that seeking God’s kingdom FIRST opens so many doors to “practicing” God’s presence. I’m reminded of when Jesus taught the disciples how to pray. He said to say, “your kingdom come.” It’s inviting God’s kingdom to invade our space so we can see, taste and know He is GOOD. Jesus was and is our example of what it looks like to practice the presence of God in this harsh world.
