Every model in Panasonic’s 2022 OLED lineup uses the latest iteration of the company’s smart platform, My Home Screen 7.0. This supports every key streaming service and offers a new accessibility menu that provides access to voice control, audio description, dialogue enhancement and subtitles. The LX800 is the exception in the Panasonic range, and uses Android TV rather than My Home Screen. That’s just about it for Panasonic’s 2022 TV line-up but, as mentioned, you may well find a few other LEDs or some other variants depending on your region. Regardless, it’s an impressive-looking collection and the company has rarely let us down in the past, so it will be interesting to see how they perform, and how these TVs shape up against some of Panasonic’s competitors that may have one or two more headline-grabbing new additions to their own line-up. The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively.
The Panasonic 50-inch LX650 Android TV supports 4K Resolution, four times the Resolution of standard high-definition (HD) television. The TV uses advanced upscaling technology to enhance lower-resolution content, providing excellent picture quality even for non-4K content. Additionally, the TV includes various picture settings, allowing you to fine-tune the picture quality according to your preferences. 8K Resolution Both models come with HDR support for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision, along with Dolby Atmos and HDMI 2.1 ports. The LX650 also offers Bluetooth connectivity and comes “distinguished with a premium finish”, but we’d imagine that Android vs Linux option would be more of a defining factor if you had to choose between the two. Size / Model (UK) JZ980:The last of the 2021 OLEDs, the JZ980, has Panasonic’s standard 4K OLED panel with support for HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and DolbyVision IQ, the brand-new processor, two HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC, VRR, 4K at 120Hz and ALLM, and a 30W sound system.

Along with introduction of 42-inch and 77-inch OLEDs, much of what’s ‘new’ for 2022 is more a case of adding improvements over last year’s models, such as the HCX Pro AI processor, Auto AI and the new version 7.0 of Panasonic’s My Home Screen platform. The higher brightness and better contrasts that may be seen best in its Master OLED Pro range will be interesting to see in action across the likes of True Cinema, Filmmaker, and Professional modes. Plus, many of the TVs also use heatsink technology to help the OLEDs maintain brightness without getting too hot. JX850:This LCD model features Panasonic’s HDR Bright Panel Plus with HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision support. Here the chip is downgraded to the HCX AI Processor. It’s hardly frills-free, as it has advanced AI upscaling, Filmmaker mode and HDMI 2.1 next-gen gaming features. HID (Human Interface Device Profile) compliant keyboards are available. A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) compliant audio devices are available. The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are owned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by Panasonic Corporation is under license. Complexions look natural and varied, more so than on the Philips, although at times they can verge on rather pallid. I’d wager its skin tones are the more accurate, the HX600 capturing the complexions and facial features of Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s multi-racial cast with more nuance and detail. Switching to the Warm colour tone does add some more punch.According to Panasonic, the flagship LZ2000 will be around 40% brighter than last year’s model as a result. Like last year, the LZ2000 and LZ1500 sport “Master OLED Pro” panels on screen sizes 55in and up. The LZ1000 and larger LZ980 models use a less advanced “Master OLED” panel, while the 42in and 48in LZ1500 and LZ980, along with all LZ800 models, make do with a basic OLED configuration. Auto AI picture mode The initial TX prefix clarifies it as being for the European region, so anyone living elsewhere will find this differs when they look up a Panasonic TV (for example, North America would see TC instead). The following 77 relates to the screen size (so will obviously change across the product range), with that L a more consistent feature, clarifying it as a 2022 model up next (as opposed to 2021's 'J' range). The Z identifies the model as having an OLED panel, with 4K LEDs changing this up to an X, and Full HD LED models getting an S. Equipped with a 20W audio system, you might presume the Panasonic TX-55LX800’s audio system is a let-down, but I wouldn’t say so.

When a Bluetooth device is connected to the TV, it is possible that the Bluetooth audio output may not be synchronized (i.e. be delayed) with relation to the images on the screen. This is not a defect of the TV or the device. The delay time will differ depending on the device. Overall, the Panasonic 50-inch LX650 Android TV is an excellent choice for a mid-range smart TV with advanced features and excellent picture quality. While the TV may not support advanced display technologies like OLED or QLED, it does support HDR technology, which provides enhanced contrast and color for a more vibrant and realistic viewing experience. Additionally, the TV runs on the Android operating system, which allows access to a wide range of apps and services and includes built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for easy streaming and device pairing. JZ1000: Here we lose the Master OLED Pro panel in favour of the more affordable Master OLED display but retain the HCX Pro AI chip and HDMI 2.1 support (VRR, 4K at 120Hz, ALLM and eARC) found on the premium OLEDs. Of course, all the HDR formats remain too: HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and DolbyVision IQ. The Panasonic 50-inch LX650 Android TV comes with a remote control that is easy to use and ergonomic. The minimalist remote control includes all the essential buttons to navigate the TV’s features. Additionally, the remote control has a dedicated button for Google Assistant, allowing you to easily access the voice control feature. Connectivity Options There’s a new speaker array in place, featuring 360° Soundscape Pro and a Dolby Atmos system that uses side-firing as well as front and up-firing speakers, The LZ2000 also uses beamforming technology for its Front Array speaker system to add further precision in its audio delivery, offering up a combined 170W 7-channel system with integrated woofer.
