About this deal

Of course, you can use this formula on wall art too. Just because you aren’t going to handle it all the time doesn’t mean you CAN’T use it. I personally use it for anything that’s going to get regular usage. I find that it is a great glue for layers like tissue paper or stiffer papers like scrapbook paper that are not as affected by the water base. Fabric Mod Podge is really tough, very durable AND it’s washable. So I always use it for projects that need to be durable – like clothing, accessories and furniture. If you are just Mod Podging fabric to letters and hanging them on the wall, you don’t need to use the Fabric formula. Use a soft bristled brush and then sand between coats. To do this, apply the Mod Podge and let it dry an hour. Then use #0000 steel wool and lightly sand the entire surface. Do this between every coat. After the final coat, sand and then spray a clear acrylic sealer to finish. Can I use a blow dryer on my projectto speed up the drying process? Does it come in different sizes? This formula comes in the most sizes: 2 oz., 8 oz., 16 oz., 32 oz., and even gallon.

Inkjet – Print the picture onto the paper and let it dry for at least ten minutes. Spray both sides of the paper with clear acrylic sealer (several coats) and let it dry. To reduce brushstrokes from any of these formulas, use a soft bristled brush and then sand between coats. To do this, apply the Mod Podge and let it dry an hour. This formula was developed first, then Mod Podge realized people didn’t understand that “Hard Coat” meant it could be used on furniture too, so they expanded to Furniture Mod Podge.

You can’t submerge an item that’s been Podged with Outdoor for an extended period of time, so it’s not technically “waterproof.” But it’s really, really close. Absolutely – well mostly. You can use it with acrylic paint, and I highly recommend FolkArt Acrylic Paint as my brand of choice. These days I’m loving their multi-surface formula. I do not recommend using Mod Podge with latex paint.

I’m so excited to dive into the magical world of Mod Podge with you today! If you’re just visiting the blog for the first time, welcome. I’m sure you can tell just by the URL that I’m obsessed. If you’re wondering, “what is Mod Podge?” then you’ve come to the right place. If you’re new to Mod Podge, you’ll definitely want to see this list. Invest in a bottle (find out where to buy Mod Podge) and a brush and get started.

Plaidonline.com has a store locator, but this is for stores that carry any Plaid product. Call to confirm that the store carries the formula you are looking for. Let’s start with the obvious – what is Mod Podge? It’s all-in-one glue, and finish that does three things: Do you ever use Mod Podge Gloss? What for? Yes I do. I use it for glass projects especially, because glass is shiny, and I like my finish to match the surface. No. MPcan glue things down, but it is also a sealer and a finish. It has “special” ingredients that school/craft glue doesn’t have.

CONVENIENT & VERSATILE SIZE – Add this multi-purpose, top coat in a 8 oz bottle to your art supplies I use a bunch of different matte mediums (mostly Matte Mod Podge and Liquitex Matte Medium). Yes, Mod Podge is a Matte Medium but not as high a quality as Liquitex or other matte mediums. No.It is waterbase and acrylic, which is great because that means it’s non-toxic. You can use it with your children without fear. But all these things mean that it’s not totally waterproof. Do I really have to wait 4 weeks to use my project??“Dry” is different than “cured.” The bottle instructs that you wait quite awhile for curing. But your project will dry to the touch in hours.

We have written an article called Mod Podge Matte | Ultimate Guide if you want to learn what we like to use the matte Mod Podge for, and you will see some of our own crafting creations! You can’t glue with the Super Gloss; the goal here is to get a smooth, epoxy-like finish over a large area. To use, Mod Podge your pieces down with another formula. These werenew in 2014 and are now discontinued. This is regular Mod Podge, and can do everything that regular Mod Podge can do, but it’s TINTED in colors! This means it’s perfect for coloring mason jars and dyeing glass. Currently you can get this formula in Aqua, Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, and Yellow. You can watch this video, but here are my steps as well. I first prepare my surface by sanding wood, washing glass or tin, etc.I paint the surface with several coats of acrylic paint (if desired). If your local store is small or typically has a limited selection, make sure you call before making a special trip! You’ll probably want to read my guide “ where to buy Mod Podge” too.
