Before I go in heavy on what I didn’t like about this book, let’s first look at the things I did like about Manifest.

Sometimes the world can be against people, whatever they do, and no matter how hard they try to change their circumstances. This is because the book is wrong. 'Inner' states do not directly cause 'outer' states. So, people cannot be solely responsible for thinking, visualising or manifesting themselves to success. This is an ugly moralising elitism which early Christians dismissed as ‘Pelagianism’. It makes the person solely responsible for their own outcomes (59%). So, it has the consequence of meaning that victims are essentially to blame for their bad outcomes. If victims were to just try harder with their visualising and manifesting, then they wouldn’t be suffering bad outcomes like being a victim of abuse. Laid out in seven simple steps – starting with “Be Clear In Your Vision”, and ending with “Trust In The Universe” – the book is full of clear, concise and accessible tips on making manifesting part of your everyday life, and the practical approach means even readers who dismiss such things as “woo-woo” might just be persuaded to reconsider.
