About this deal

This coffee maker has a compact design with portability in mind, so we don’t really expect it to make a large batch of coffee at once. One thing we really loved about the Makita model is the fact that, unlike many portable coffee makers, it not only makes coffee but heats the water too.

Nespresso. (n.d.). The Nespresso Recycling Program. Retrieved January 24, 2023, from https://www.nespresso.com/ca/en/irecycle What I really like about this coffee maker is that you can choose between coffee grounds and single serve coffee pods.If you are looking for an easy-to-use machine worth your money, consider this ion cordless coffee maker compatible with both coffee pods and ground coffee. No paper filters are needed to make a hot cup of lithium-ion cordless coffee that you can be proud of at work using battery-powered tools. Underneath the lid on top of the device is a water tank with an 8oz (240ml) capacity. Meanwhile, a measuring spoon attaches to the lid.

The machine also has boil-dry protection, meaning if the tank isn’t full enough, it will automatically shut off. Many users report that the Makita makes consistently hot coffee. While it may not be quite up to the standard of coffee produced by an SCA-certified machine, it’s the best quality coffee you can find for cordless, portable brewing. Even with the diminished quality, it is still far better than instant coffee. For a stronger flavor, use dark roast grounds. Any Alternatives? Who doesn’t like a sprinkle of chocolate powder on their cappuccino? These cappuccino choco pods are a real treat, and they’ll save you so much money compared to buying from the local coffee shop. The Kopipresso technically isn’t a battery-operated coffee maker, but it provides more flexibility than your average plug-in coffee maker with its USB power. You can easily plug it into a battery-operated device like a laptop for coffee anywhere, anytime. One of the great features of this device is that it can brew either from coffee pods or plain-jane ground coffee. It takes a fair amount of power to boil a cup of water. The type of battery you have on hand, either 18V or 12V, as well as the battery capacity determines how many cups you’ll get out of a single charge. We took the liberty of testing it out (and yes, we also tested every single cup of coffee along the way – but more on that later!) We wanted to gauge the accuracy of the brew size estimated in the instruction manual. We used several different 18V LXT batteries and we’re happy to report that the manufacturer is spot on about the number of cups you’ll get out of a single charge – up to 3 cups. However, that’s only if you use a battery with higher capacity. Sold as body only, batteries and chargers are sold separately. Comes with a dedicated coffee cup as standard and perfectly fits with the unit. The cup also comes with a lid that allows coffee to drip in whilst keep the coffee warm and dust out. This coffee machine takes 5 minutes to brew a single-serve 5oz cup using an 18V CXT battery and a single 5.0Ah battery is only good for 3 cups total. (Or, just 2 cups if you have the 18V, 3.0Ah battery.)

What’s also great is that the machine will shut down in case there’s not enough water in the reservoir. That way, it prevents overheating and malfunctioning. Mott, J. (2021, August 24). Enjoying great coffee while you’re travelling. Retrieved January 24, 2023, from https://perfectdailygrind.com/2021/08/enjoying-great-coffee-while-youre-travelling/If you’re using the 18V LXT battery, 5 oz of coffee will brew in around five minutes. The less powerful battery takes around seven minutes to brew the coffee. Of course, you can’t expect the battery to last for too long. A single charge is enough to make 1 to 3 cups of coffee, depending on the battery strength.
