About this deal

The Toaks Titanium Spork is made with lightweight titanium, which does not rust and is sufficiently sturdy and durable to last a whole lifetime. Out of all the sporks we tested, the Sea to Summit AlphaLight Long will always hold a special place in my heart. Unless you’re car camping, you should carefully consider the weight of every piece of gear you’re carrying. Plastic sporks are lighter but not as durable. Aluminum and titanium sporks are heavier yet more durable. Because they are so cheap they make a great option to buy as your first spork to give it a try and see if it is for you. My first ever spork was a plastic spork from Light My Fire. Although it broke a long time ago, I still have one that I use from time to time. And they are usually lighter than titanium, but not as strong. Unless you really do a good job at looking after them, you may break them a lot easier than any of the other materials. This model is a utilitarian, familiar, and practically indestructible on the go utensil, earning it our favor over all others

As a good rule of thumb, once you think you’ve chosen the right spork, ask the most important question: Would I be willing to replace my entire home utensil set with this spork? If you’re uncertain the answer is yes, you’ll probably hate the thing by day three on the trail. Weight A splade features a spoon, fork, and blade just like a spork. I actually don’t understand the difference even after extensive research, so, to be honest, I don’t think there is a difference other than you can get double-headed sporks, but a splade is typically all at one end. Can You Eat Soup with A Spork? It’s durable, built to last, and conforms to FDA food safety standards. It weighs an ultralight 0.4 ounces, which is just 12 grams. Titanium sporks are lightweight and very strong. Although they cost a little bit more it is usually money well spent on an item that should last a lifetime. PlasticIt weighs a little more than most other titanium sporks, but when you consider that it’s a more effective spork than most other sporks, many people would argue that the extra weight is worth it. Besides, 0.67 oz / 19 grams is not that much anyway. The ultimate high performance Spork - for extreme Sporking. We sell hundreds of these every year, they are an indispensable travel tool, a handy camping eating iron, and your best (possibly only) friend on long journeys. Your Spork will listen to you patiently and understand your problems, it will never let you down and will never leave you, it will be your friend, mentor and your one true love in times of hardship. Your Spork will feed you, you must care for it. It fascinates me because it is so wildly different and rogue. The CRKT Eat’n Tool is heavy, short, awkward, comes with a bottle opener and is probably indestructible. We devised tests to help us determine each spork’s performance in these three key areas. The Functionality Test

It’s a decent spork with decent durability, and comes with the same cute carabiner as its sibling. However, I had LOTS of trouble scooping spaghetti with it and I’m too much of a carb lover to make that sacrifice. Summary Titanium is the strongest of these three. Plastic is usually the cheapest and lightest. Aluminum offers a happy balance of mid-weight with mid-durability. Pressure test: What happens when we intentionally try to break the tines and the handle before boiling? After? When I tried the Light My Fire Plastic Spork I was impressed but as happens with most of my gear it eventually broke after a long time of being used and abused and needed to be replaced. I was suitably impressed with the Light My Fire Plastic Spork, but like most people, I eventually upgraded from a plastic spork to a titanium spork. The Snow Peak Titanium spork is available in a choice of 4 different colors, namely silver, blue, green, and purple. This is good for those of you who like to go camping as a group because you can easily identify whose spork is whose.

Sporks are generally quite strong and should last a long time. The material will usually determine the durability of the spork. Titanium is the most durable material and plastic is the least durable material. The UCO Titanium Utility Spork is the number 1 best titanium spork for camping that we have tested. We love the spoon’s shape and size, which is perfect for soups, yogurt, and chocolate pudding. The fork also has proper prongs like an actual fork, unlike many other options. On top of this, one of the for edges has a mildly serrated edge for chopping, which comes in handy when cooking and portioning food. Titanium is incredibly lightweight and completely *biocompatible, so it doesn’t corrode or leech taste/chemicals, is as strong as steel but 45% lighter, and super resistant to extreme heat and cold. Titanium naturally resists bacteria and mold and, unlike stainless steel, won’t ever rust. For all these reasons, titanium is the best material for sporks and cooking utensils in general. How Do You Clean a Titanium Spork? They both do the job however, I personally like a dual head with a full spoon which often means a more effective spork. The spoon bowl should have a little depth to it so you can get a full mouthful on there, and the fork should be able to skewer soft food.

Use this most days. Have bought one for a friend. Ergonomically great with a serrated edge on the fork side. Just buy it. The folks over at Expedition Portal and Outdoor Gear Lab have performed similar-ish tests in the past.

Analysis and Test Results

the lmf spork does create a conundrum too: how to hold and cut at the same time. its not possible to keep your steak still with the fork AND cut with the serrated edge simultaneously:) Why does it come in four colors? Why does my spork need hex wrenches? Why is it more than 3x as heavy as the average spork? And WHY does it appear not to be designed with the left-handed individual in mind? Seriously guys, because of the placement of the bottle opener feature, I can’t effectively hold it with my left hand.
