About this deal

This would be a great and unique present for Star Wars fan! It can be hung on the wall and would make a great feature to any room. It is also a great talking point at parties etc.... SPECS

Man Hours (Lowes/Home Depot/Hobby Store Runs, build, paint-NOT including time to dry): Approx 25 hours. Membership connects and supports the people and projects that shape our future and supports the learning The HIC is an eye catching prop, you don't want to half ass it and have regrets. Take your time and do it the right way, this will eliminate having to redo things, and just makes life easier. Here is the info regarding the 3 sections. I would recommend screwing the sections down 1st, before you start with the bondo. Make sure the HIC is secure and in the correct position. ( once you start the bondo process it's a pain to move him around ). You can also use caulking if you so desire, use what you have. This HIC was primed using three coats of automotive primer. As you can see, the coating is even with NO runs. Light even coats are what your looking to achieve. If you spray heavy coats you will be sanding your butt off. Take your time and do it right. A celebration of the Maker Movement, a family-friendly showcase of invention and creativity that gathers Weathering the surface can be accomplished with a simple wash application of acrylic craft paint mixed with liquid dish soap and water. A ratio of about 5 parts paint to 1 part liquid dish soap to 3 parts water makes a terrific wash formula for any modelling project. Again, another debate......I like to use Rustoleum Gun Metal. I feel it gives the desired look, but again it's an ongoing debate. Choose a color you think is best. The LEDs are powered by a 12v DC Reg. 1A Switch – meaning they simply get plugged into the wall for power. For this setup, you can drive dozens of LEDs, however for the project I’ll use around 10.

Han Solo in Carbonite 62 Cm Or Life Size 3D Print Model

I'm going to try and get some pix posted this weekend to help with this thread. I wanted to get a basic tutorial going so folks can get things rolling. These parts were secured with 2-part epoxy along with various washers, spacers, and pushpins. We even took the head from a kazoo that had an intricate and functional-looking fan pattern. If i were to do it again, I would have glued the front edge panels down, as well as screw them. I was in a rush the first time and didn’t bother gluing them and they kept popping up, which added quite a few hours of time to the build chasing gaps and filling them with bondo. These details were added using Elmer's Wood Glue, as you can see it really " pops" when it's primed ( please note : final color has not been applied at this step ) Han Solo gets affixed with a good coating of Bondo Epoxy Putty and then wood screws are affixed every 3-5 inches.

The Han Solo in Carbonite has and always will be one of my favorite props from the Star Wars saga. I wanted to create a fun, affordable prop for everyone to enjoy. Here is my building tips that I hope will serve you well on your build. Aluminum flashing tape lines the inside of the hero panel LED box to reflect and scatter as much light as possible. The LEDs that drive the large green light and the digit lights are embedded in boxes made from foam core. The inside of the boxes are lined with aluminum tape to help diffuse and bounce the light inside.I wanted to try my hand at one final HIC, making this version my ideal version and better than the previous two I attempted. I'm going to take a creative liberty with this one, something I wanted to try for some time, and will share more on that later.

The remaining of the Carbonite texture is created with PVA Wood Glue (AKA Elmer’s Glue). The temperatures had dropped so dramatically, I built a plastic tent and employed the help of a space heater to allow the glue to dry at a normal temperature. When you receive your HIC from me you will notice the prop is in three sections: The head, mid section, and legs. It's a good idea to have a game plan and decide where and what you want this prop for. Example: Hanging on a garage door, or displaying in your man cave. This is an important step and will make things easier when you decide what your going to use as a mounting surface. With a 1-inch brush, liberally scrub the paint all over a 1-foot x 1-foot section. Allow the paint to dry a few minutes (not longer than 10). If temperatures are really cold, you can heat things up with hair dryer or heat gun.Life Size Prop/ Replica of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) frozen in Carbonite from the classic movie Star Wars. Because my door was going to be slightly smaller than the original, I opted for KingJawa's cast that was cut and came in pieces, which would make it easier to fit my needs.
