About this deal

If you are shaving your body, such as legs or armpits the Leaf razor is the most advanced plastic free body shaving razor on Earth.

That’s all I have to say, review-wise. So I just thought I’d warn you that I’m about to go down a few rabbit holes… Read on if you want to get analytical. Use short strokes, especially when you’re just getting the hang of it. Because shaving with a safety razor is not like shaving with the plastic, pivoting-head razor you’re probably used to.One user writes “The handle on the Leaf Razor is abnormally long (measuring 6” from the head). This makes the overall use unique but awkward in my opinion.” The Leaf Razor also allows for the control over the blades that are used. As an established wetshaver, I have more blades that I know what to do with so experimenting with different blade types really appealed to me. In my opinion, blades are very subjective when it comes to wetshaving gear. There is no "best blade to sensitive skin", sorry.

An offshoot from the Leaf razor, this interesting Twig has grown on me like no other razor. It reminds me of Gillette Guard disposable razor due to its nimble handling. The main error to avoid is to apply too much pressure. As all the weight is in the bulb shaped end of the handle, which makes the head feel almost weightless in comparison; so the tendency is to compensate by adding pressure to the head. Don't.I can never quite get the top plate aligned uniformly to the blade. I'll try to position the top plate manually just before tightening up but it has a mind of its own and moves anyway. This doesn't however seem to affect performance as far as I can tell. I guess it's just tolerance in manufacturing. Even though it’s not really a safety razor. Which is, of course, why I love it – all of the sustainability with none of the suffering.) A few others noted that the process of loading blades into these metal razors requires a lot of effort. A few also expressed that the design isn’t the most user-friendly. The blades that come with Well Kept (Astra brand’s Superior Platinum) are sharp, but not sharpest around. In short, I didn’t learn anything that explained all the cuts. (I couldn’t find any data on Albatross’ blades.) Do metal razors rust?

I bought my Twig (aggressive Thorn version) 4 weeks ago from @Agent Shave. It arrived in short time and carefully wrapped - great service. Face shaving - many face shavers tend to gravitate towards the Leaf Twig Razoror Leaf Thorn Razor because the head of the razor is smaller and easier to fit into tight spaces such as under the nose. Either take them to a sharps collection point, or use some kind of “ blade bank” (a safe collection box), so that the people working at recycling facilities don’t get sliced. But consider my experience your fair warning and please, be weary of blogs telling you shaving with a safety razor is “ omg totally easy!”Use short strokes. AKA don’t shave all the way up your leg in one go, because you might skin the whole damn thing before you realize what you’ve done.

Reviewers also wrote that the razors were great, but more noticeably, that the customer service was “brilliant.” The same reviewer stated,Most of these are easy decisions, which reduce the environmental impact of our daily routines, with very little downside. The Twig Razor is made for anybody, anywhere - head, face, underarms or legs. You can start shaving straight away as the Leaf Twig Thorn razor comes with 5 leaf single edge blades. Both Well Kept and Albatross are very explicit with those instructions, as is Leaf, the multi-blade razor brand I tried later. Later it occurred to me that safety razors weren’t designed for shaving legs.
