There is the super-fast espresso, espresso lungo, long coffee (90ml) and the free -flow function if you prefer more water in your morning brew. After inserting my capsule, I opted for the short option, and within 30 seconds, had a smooth-tasting espresso. I did notice a little splatter while filtering but fortunately, this wasn’t the case for my following cups. What’s more, it’s incredibly quiet, which is always a bonus for making multiple espressos throughout the day. Considering I’m more of a milky-coffee fan, I was seriously impressed by the quality of the delicious crema. I already cut open my used caps to get the old coffee out to add to my compost bin and this will make it easier.

But for me, and I think many people, it’s just right. Looks aside, the Jolie is remarkably easy to use. With just one button, you can produce a consistently great-tasting espresso with the machine’s “Stop&Go” button, giving you full control over dosage. Simply press the button to begin the pour and then again to stop.

To complete the descaling process, use a non-toxic and/or non-harmful type of descaling product for coffee machines, commonly available on the market. This means you can have exactly the amount of coffee you want. Previously I would have to also boil a kettle to add enough water to get the kind of long drink I sometimes desired.
