Before my little rant, Le Male Le Parfum is a good fragrance so do not get me wrong! Its a sweet spicy vanilla scent and has a very nice cardamom note. Cardamom gives fragrances a sexy intimate, datenighty character. As it dries down, to my nose the spices emerge more and i have to admit i prefer the opening. Firstly, the fragrance is not minty; it is spicy! There's a world of difference between the icy effect that mint offers and the refreshing spiciness of cardamom. And this opening, which brings with it the strong presence of lavender, gives me a bit of the fougère aspect of yesteryear, however, with a certain air of modernity. Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Eau de Toilette is a mythical perfume created by Francis Kurkdjian in 1995 for the famous French designer, which represents, better than any other, his modern and transgressive spirit. Since the date of its launch, it has become an essential masculine fragrance. It belongs to the Oriental- Fern olfactory family. Its composition has as top notes bergamot, cardamom, lavender, tarragon, mint; evolves in the heart notes with orange blossom, cumin and cinnamon; and ends with the base notes with sandalwood, vanilla, cedar, tonka bean and amber. OG Le Male is more unique and versatile...b/c it can handle almost any occasion in almost any season...except hot/humid outdoors. And even the current juice being sold gets you 7-8 hours no problem. After the 2 hour blissful projection, it seems to downgrade to a hardly detectable skin-scent for not more than a couple hours thereafter, at least on my skin; Initial projection is strong, around 6 feet. Sillage is strong as well and leaves a nice scent trail. After a few hours I seem to have gone nose blind to it, but I was told it was still projecting about arms length and leaving a strong scent trail. About 8 hours into wearing my wife said I was still projecting about 12 inches and leaving a noticeable scent trail, but I still couldn't smell it myself. Altogether it stayed on my skin about 24 hours, making it certified eternal. What truly sets "Le Male Le Parfum" apart is its impeccable balance. The rich, oriental base notes of vanilla, tonka bean, and woods create a velvety foundation that is both comforting and enticing. The longevity of this fragrance is nothing short of impressive, lingering on the skin throughout the day with a captivating sillage that leaves a trail of allure.Not strong enough to push through a suit for a good length of time on special occasions. I have better options for that.

This fragrance is a amazing and wearing this today was an invigorating experience, and I can't help but share my thoughts about it. I did feel, however, that people around me couldn't fully appreciate it, and I suspect it was due to my cautious application of just 2 sprays. Next time, I'm planning to be a bit more liberal and go for 3-4 sprays to ensure the scent is more noticeable. Ultra Male is more unique and versatile...seasons & occasions (club to date-night to casual daytime to office). Just adjust your spray count.

A Very Sensual Fragrance

Sweet, spicy, and a little synthetic sharpness. When I first got this le male it was my first le male ever (and a blind buy!) I didn’t know what I was getting into at first because all I heard at the time was that this Le Male was the Le Male to get for a “sexy” fragrance. I got it in the mail and sprayed it and I absolutely hated it at first because for some reason, it smelled way too strong of some synthetic… vinegar…? And the dry down was horrendous making me smell like a fresh balsamic salad from salad and go. I let this beautiful juice sit in storage as I wanted to give it another chance in the future (and I was too lazy to return it at the time). Come around this year, I sprayed it on my wrist again, and it smelled AMAZING, the spicy cardamom punched me in the face with some Iris and woods. I fell in love. I wore it on a date with my wife recently and she really liked it. The cardamom reminded her of middle eastern deserts and dishes she grew up eating. In the opening there is an immediate blast of cardamom and sweetness, neither of which ever actually relent through the course of this fragrance. I also get something citrusy I can't quite put my finger on -- orange, maybe? Shortly thereafter, the vanilla, iris and lavender make themselves known with the cardamom. At this point it becomes fairly linear as the mid and the drydown do not have drastic changes, though I do like how I catch different aspects every now and then, including that elusive citrusy note. The main change I notice in the fragrance as the hours pass is the ratio of the cardamom, iris, vanilla and amber as the vanilla and amber oh so slowly take over. But all of those facets are noticeable throughout the entire wearing of the fragrance, and even on my clothes discarded in the closet the next day. I get about 6 hours moderate projection, with the first hour being very strong. After that it fades to a skin scent, but even then I can still detect cardamom/iris/vanilla/amber. The pillar codes were maintained, through the notes of lavender, cardamom, and vanilla. But, of course, this does not mean complete similarity with the original fragrance, also because we are dealing with one of the greatest pillars of world perfumery, with more than 50 variations, considering the limited editions and some that don't alter the juice. This used to be the most hyped Le Male in the line. Then Le Male Elixir came out and everyone lost their minds. Does Le Male Le Parfum still have what it takes to be a contender in 2023?
