About this deal

Lindy Powell finds a ventriloquist dummy in the trash named Slappy and keeps it, prompting her bratty twin sister, Kris, to get one named Mr. Wood as well. However, when destructive pranks begin happening, the sisters begin to wonder if their dummies have anything to do with it. Robert Lawrence Stine known as R. L. Stine and Jovial Bob Stine, is an American novelist and writer, well known for targeting younger audiences. Stine, who is often called the Stephen King of children's literature, is the author of dozens of popular horror fiction novellas, including the books in the Goosebumps, Rotten School, Mostly Ghostly, The Nightmare Room and Fear Street series. Dr. Brewer's Clone appears as an enemy in Goosebumps: The Game. The book's manuscript also appears in the ending.

I digress. The kids snoop around to see what dad's working on, and they find creepy plants in a equatorially hot basement (again: paying for this excess summer heating how?) and things get weirder from there - but in a pretty predictable way. Once again we have a brother and sister combination. Once again we have a "just moved here" story. And once again we have a couple of kids encountering weird stuff and questioning themselves constantly to find out why they should be freaked out by it. Over and over and over. "Why am I so afraid? Why does this weird thing bother me so much? Why am I nervous and scared?" I dunno... maybe because your dad is acting like a weird imposter and hasn't talked to you in 3 weeks and has leaves growing out of his head and bleeds green now?? Eddie and his sister Sue were vacationing in London, England when they become lost in a medieval torture chamber called Terror Tower and have to run from the Lord High Executioner. Things get weirder when they begin losing their money and their memories. The original script contained the ending of the original book, where only one flower spoke to Margaret. Stay Out Of The Basement did seem slightly heavier than Welcome To Dead House in terms of its themes. Reading this as an adult, I was able to see so many different issues that I did not notice as a child, issues that Margaret and Casey (the two adolescent protagonists) probably overlooked as well. Some of the themes/issues include: man vs nature, grief over familial illness, work/life balance (we TOTALLY get that in the Atlanta metro area), and so on. However - this really reminded me of a Island of Dr. Moreau or Frankenstein kind of story, where some crazy guy who has just a bit too much scientific understanding and time, and not quite enough forethought or ethics, gets it into his head to play God and create a new species that was never intended to exist. They may technically succeed, but what kind of life is it for the being that was created? They don't have a place in the world, they can't reproduce, and they are generally treated as an abomination. It's inevitable that these experiments will always be the ones the suffer for the "scientific method" that was used to bring them into being - and the ones responsible are never truly held accountable in any satisfying way. (At least to me - and I think death is too easy a punishment for those who deserve far worse for causing such suffering in innocent creatures needlessly.)Evan and his friend Andy once again contend with the evil novelty slime called Monster Blood. This time, Andy is revealed to still have some of it left and accidentally feeds it to the class hamster Cuddles. Amanda and Josh Benson move with their parents Mr. and Mrs. Benson into a creepy old house in the strange town of Dark Falls and meet new friends who are unlike any kids they have known before. While staying with his weird grandaunt Kathryn, Evan Ross visits a funky old toy store and buys a dusty can of monster blood. It is fun to play with at first until Evan notices something weird about the green, slimy stuff--it seems to be growing, and growing. This is one of the few Goosebumps books written in third-person, which was eventually phased out as the series continued. Sometime later, Mrs. Brewer is forced to travel to Tucson to visit her sister Eleanor, who has been hospitalized. Dr. Brewer takes Mrs. Brewer to the airport, giving Margaret, Casey, and their friend, Diane an opportunity to go down into the basement and investigate Dr. Brewer's strange experiments. Upon entering, they find a wide variety of gigantic green plants, some of which seem to be bearing fruits.

Billy Harlan is staying at Camp Nightmoon turns to horror when word of the monster Sabre lurking in the woods crops up, followed by a series of events leaving campers injured and missing. Marissa and Justin the kids of the famous writer and storyteller Richard Clarke decide to help their father find an ancient parchment called "The Lost Legend," and soon find themselves in the woods of Brovania, home to silver-coated dogs, thousands of mice, and Vikings thought to have been dead long ago. With this one, she knew a lot of what was going to happen because she had already watched the tv episode based on this book, but even so, she still enjoyed it, and tomorrow night we get to start a new one. This book is a nice blend of science and horror that our future biologists, botanists, and chemists of the world will definitely appreciate. Dr. Brewer is doing a little plant-testing in his basement. Harmless, he says, but his daughter and son Margaret and Casey Brewer were worried about their father especially when they see some of the plants he is growing down there. Then things get real strange when they notice their father developing plantlike tendencies.R.L. Stine selected Stay Out of the Basement to be one of the first Goosebumps books to be adapted for an episode, as he wanted to ensure that his favorites were made into television episodes. i laughed more than i got creeped out this was so fun. if my dad had told me to stay out of the basement when i was a kid i’m damn sure going to disobey my unhealthy amount of curiosity and stay out of the basement. especially if he’s a mad scientist.

No puedo hacer otra que recomendarles su lectura, y si es en compañía pues mucho mejor. Diversión asegurada 👌📚🔝 According to the Goosebumps Scarezine, the reason Dr. Brewer was always wearing a baseball cap was inspired by his son Matt never taking his cap off. Margaret's father may be a botanist, but what he's doing in the basement suggests he may be a mad scientist. Harry Altman and his brother Alex Altman go to Camp Spirit Moon where the campers turn out to be ghosts who want to use Harry and Alex's bodies to escape. The book's original blurb contains a reference to the 1986 film Little Shop of Horrors. However, this reference is omitted in later reprints but was retained in the 2020 Retro Fear Collection reprint.

In this third installment of the Monster Blood books, Evan Ross accidentally ingests some of the evil green slime after his nerdy cousin Kermit uses it in a chemistry experiment and grows into a giant.

The episode opens with Mrs. Brewer leaving for the airport to visit a relative. She leaves Casey and Margaret alone for the weekend with their father, Dr. Brewer. Dr. Brewer is obsessed with plants and has secret experiments going on in the basement. Mrs. Brewer, Margaret, and Casey have been instructed to stay out of the basement for unexplained reasons. Cooper Holmes and his new friend Fergie, are stalked by 2 ghost dogs who haunt the woods and produce a bone-chilling bark. On vacation on the Caribbean island of Ilandra, Billy Deep is rescued from the jaws of a great hammerhead shark by a mermaid who is targeted by Billy's uncle Dr. George Deep for scientific experiments about rare sea life. Several screenshots from this episode are featured on a bulletin board in the video game Goosebumps Dead of Night.Ginger Wald a former nature camp survivor and her twin brothers, Nat and Pat end up lost in the woods where beaver/bear-like monsters calling themselves Beasts challenge them to a dangerous game of tag called Beast from the East. i just know if i were in their position i wouldn’t have gotten got because i hate anything that should not be moving that moves when it’s not supposed to be moving and that would have been my cue to leave that very first time. Trina O'Dell's father Mr. O'Dell used to be a famous ventriloquist, but now he only collects and refurnishes old ventriloquist dolls in his spare time. He finds Slappy in the trash and adds him to his collection. After reading the words that come with Slappy, not only does the evil dummy comes to life, but so does his entire collection. I loved the kids being kids, being told not to go in the basement and what they do? Go in the basement. It's too tempting! Also how they miss their father, he used to spend some time with them but now he's too caught up in his experiments.
