About this deal

Point: A point or points refer to any Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, or Google Wifi device that's added to the main router as part of your mesh network to extend coverage. Nest Wifi points don't have Ethernet ports and can't be hardwired. Learn more about compatibility for Nest Wifi and Google Wifi products.

Although, network speeds depend not only on the Router but also on the Modem to which you connect the Nest Router to (yes, you will need a modem to make the Nest Router work!)

Each Nest Wifi Pro device you add after the first is considered a mesh point. To provide expanded Wi-Fi coverage, the connection between each point needs to be strong. Make sure the router and points are evenly spread out, but not too far from each other. To provide Wi-Fi coverage to every corner of your home, the connection between each point needs to be strong. Make sure the points are evenly spread out but not too far from each other. Compatible with the Nest Wifi router and Nest Wifi point. Not compatible with the next generation Nest Wifi Pro. Once you've set up your network, you can perform a mesh test to verify that your connections are strong and readjust the placement of your points as needed. For more Wifi device placement tips, learn how to improve coverage for an existing network.

Switch: A switch is a networking device that connects devices, like computers, printers, and services, to each other, typically over Ethernet ports. Having a switch can allow you to expand your networking system with additional Ethernet ports, which enables you to hardwire more devices to your network. If you use a switch, we recommend using an unmanaged switch or configuring a managed switch to disable Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) and forward Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDUs) when STP is disabled. This will avoid technical issues with some managed switches as it relates to routing and network loops. Most other mesh routers offer a Tri-band connection. However, the ability to link up your mesh routers via a wired connection surely compensates for the missing band. Final Thoughts You can use multiple Nest Wifi Pro routers to expand coverage to your home. Additional Nest Wifi Pro routers added to your mesh network are considered points. Use the Google Home app for setup. If you’d like to add another Wifi device, tap Yes in the app to continue or follow the steps to add an additional point or routerat a later time.Speed and reliability are obviously the most essential elements for a good Wi-Fi experience, but Nest Wifi isn’t without its extras. We’ve already talked about Assistant integration in Points, but here are some other features offered by Nest Wifi that help it stand out. Your primary Google Wifi point needs to be connected to a modem. This may limit where you place it, depending on where your modem is and the length of the Ethernet and power cables. Don't connect any devices including computers, switches, or another Wifi pointto your primary Wifi device that's plugged into your modem, until after setup is completed. Tap Yes to continue. If you have multiple devices available for setup, select your Nest Wifi router. If you'd like to add another Wifi device, tap Yes in the app to continue, or follow the steps below to add a point at a later time.

If you’re setting up a Nest Wifi point, this location will also be where you'll interact with the Google Assistant. This is based on using connected devices at a data rate of 1 Mbps each. Requires sufficient broadband internet connection and connected devices to be located within Wi-Fi coverage areas described at g.co/googlewifi/coverage.Strength and speed of signal will also depend on your internet provider. If your Google Wifi network was set up in the Google Wifi app, choose Add to existing. This will add your Google Wifi device and settings to the Google Home app.

As much as I enjoyed the Nest Wifi, I’d be lying if I said it was perfect. It’s pretty close, though. Here are a few things that aren’t so great about Nest Wifi:
