I tend to believe that the A-mount Sigma lens will have better AF and better IBIS implementation rather than the Canon Sigma art lens, but I don’t know how much worse are these 2 points in the Canon version. Phase-detect AF on A9, A7RIV, A7III, A7RIII, A7RII, A7II, A6500, A6400 and A6300. Not known if other cameras autofocus satisfactorily using contrast-detection, and it is not known if the maximum AF-C drive speed of 10fps with A7III & A7RIV can be achieved or not. I have a very specific requirement and I suspect my question is unanswerable. I use a housed A6000 and Canon Mount Tokina AF 10-17mm F3.5 – 4.5 Fisheye Lens (the only zoom fisheye lens AFAIK) for underwater photography. The Commlite adapter I use works fine for aperture control but autofocus is ineffective. Manual focus with peaking generally works well especially with the large DOF (I need to use a minimum of f8 to f11 underwater for optical reasons) but there are occasions when shooting large fast moving creatures such as dolphins and sharks when autofocus would be an advantage.
