About this deal

Now I don’t have any specs or facts that they HAVE done this, but after playing the DDP-80 for a couple of weeks, I’m pretty sure they have done exactly that. With USB MIDI connectivity, you can connect the piano to your computer or other MIDI-compatible devices for recording or accessing additional sounds. Aesthetics The piano does look nice and kind of "classes up" the place. It has a nice wood finish and it's made from particle board. Donner kind of misleads you into thinking it was handcrafted and made from solid wood but...it's definitely not. The color looks a little different in person than the pictures online. The one I received has a darker, more reddish kind of wood grain but I think it looks nice. It’s important to note that the DDP-80 +does not have a reverb effect, which is typically one of my go-to’s with digital pianos. How It Plays/Key Action There are two types of acoustic pianos that fit into this category, grand pianos and upright pianos. The keys of the Donner DDP-80, don’t have too much in common with those of a grand piano. They have a certain degree of similarity with those of an upright piano, in that they behave similarly but they can’t possibly feel exactly the same due to the materials they’re made of. An upright piano has wood key action whereas the DDP-80, like many other models in this price range, has a plastic key action. So, they weren’t completely wrong, it’s just a case of over-selling. This doesn’t make it bad, I just felt the need be more specific about the details.

The appearance of the Donner DDP-80 is the most obvious characteristic, the one that stands out the most. And some might argue, the most unusual one, that is for a digital piano. The minimalist, 50’s and 60’s style cabinet design has no comparison across the entire market of digital pianos. It’s made to look like wood, and I say “look” because it’s actually not wood. Piano Bench - Different from the traditional piano stool, Donner bookcase piano bench which can store sheet music or other books, provides convenient hidden storage space for you. The flip-top is easy to open and with stable support. The retro-inspired cabinet and beautiful woodgrain appearance capture creativity at its finest. The DDP-80 stands out from other digital pianos on the market. It boasts bold, mid-century styling and flared-out slimline legs. Its orangey-brown wooden casing adds a touch of warmth to any space.

Should You Buy a Used Digital Piano? - 2023 Report

Rear and bottom panels: MIDI USB, sustain pedal, power line, audio output, headphone, 3-pedal unit cable port, volume control, power switch (goes to standby automatically if nobody plays for 30 minutes) So while the P-45 IS a Yamaha, and Yamaha is an amazing brand, and the P-45 does have 10 voices as opposed to Donner’s single voice; the Donner DDP-80 actually outshines the P-45 in a number of areas: it has FAR more powerful and better sounding speakers (at 40 watts vs. 12), it has a line out port for connecting to external amplification – with the P-45 you have to use the headphone port which would disable the internal speakers, and the DDP-80 has 128 polyphony vs the P-45’s 64. The DDP-80 INCLUDES a triple pedal unit; the P-45 has no option for a triple pedal.

DDP-80 Weighted Piano - The 88 key heavy hammer action keyboard simulating the acoustic piano, accurately capture the strength of your fingers, give you a grand piano touch. It’s a good electronic piano to replace the grand piano for teaching or learning. Yes, it is possible to use an extension cord if the piano is not close enough to the electrical outlet. Donner is a music technology brand founded in 2012 that has grown from strength to strength in its short 11-year life so far. The brand creates not only pianos, but also guitars, synthesisers, drums, and audio & production equipment. While minimal in controls, with just a power button and volume control on the rear panel, this digital piano doesn’t compromise on features. It boasts an 88-note progressive hammer action keyboard for a realistic playing experience and two downward-firing built-in speakers that deliver room-filling sound without distortion. The DDP-80 is unlike other Donner digital pianos as far as the design and other visual aspects go. The device is housed in a wooden chassis, and the metal feet are disguised to look just as if they were made of the same wood. So this means that the DDP-80 is not just a digital gadget that you hide when you’re not using it. It’s very appealing and can serve as a decorative asset to match any modern or classic type of furniture. Image: Donner

With a 128-note polyphony and 40-watt (2 x 20W) speaker power, the DDP-80 PLUS piano delivers high-quality sound reproduction. The French high-quality DREAM sound source faithfully replicates the sound of an acoustic piano, ensuring that you enjoy authentic piano tones. We’re fully onboard with what Donner has tried to do with the look of the DDP-80, though, and it’s nice to have a flat surface on the top to write notes or put your coffee down on. Just make sure you use a coaster, yeah?Is this velocity sensitive? The harder you press, the sound is louder and press lightly, the volume is lower.
