About this deal

Having now smelled my way through the whole scent evolution, I have to say, D&G really pulled off something special here. The opening is almost pure Dylan Blue, and that impression lingers over the top of it. Then, the fig and citrus come out to play, and it takes on a bit of an Acqua di Gio Profundo vibe, with a touch of green to it. And at about the 10-15 minute mark, the pimento settles in just under the blue top, and just above the cedar/vetiver/patchouli base, and WOW, does it ever work. The top is a king’s crown design, along with the crown printed on top of the K, you can see why this could be called King. However it is called simply “K”, with D&G describing the scent as being for “A king in his everyday life”. All the hate for this fragrance...all I can say is it's not for everyone but it's not generic and it's not a bad scent at all. The bottle itself is quite a piece of work – a cool blue bottle but admitted, at first glance the crown cap does comes across as an over the top kind of “see me, hear me” statement in the vein of PRs 1 Million gold bar, but I find it also to be kind of tongue-in-cheek and quite fun to release a bottle like that in 2019.

Im going to speak to the overall effect of this scent through the bulk of the wear to try and encapsulate its general character in how it came across on me.Probably one of my new favorite fragrances. It's just the right balance of clean and modern which makes it extremely versatile, while also having just enough character to be a signature scent. Great bottle presentation as well!

The most prominent feature of K EdP, to my nose, is a milky, slightly dirty fig note; initially accompained by blood orange in a way that feels like the two notes are constantly fighting for your attention. Soon, the fig note overpowers everything else; problem is, I don't like fig accords in perfumery, the only designer I can more or less like being Fusion d'Issey. Some PBS medications are restricted and require prior approval from Medicare before a doctor is able to prescribe them on the PBS. This prior approval to prescribe grants the doctor the Authority to prescribe the desired medicine and have it funded under the PBS. Juniper berries, a note i feel you either love or hate. There is a LOT of hate for this fragrance, and it seems centered around the note of juniper. No, I do not think this smells like anything on the designer market currently. There is no ambroxan as noted below, it is not bubble gum sweet, no overdose of tonka bean. There are 3 or 4 four notes (including patchouli) that could ruin it for me, but it plays the other notes and pulls me away where it wants every time. I think that this is a perfect fragrance for an evening, and would work best in Autumn or Winter, but could work in the other seasons on a night too. Since the smell is so subtle, it will not offend, but will leave a good impression. This fragrance is much more deep and captivating than I had first thought, and I don't remember enjoying wearing a fragrance in the first week as much as this one.
