About this deal

Vegetables, fruit, sausages, potatoes, even French bread. Just hold the food in one hand and Clever Cutter in the other, then feed and chop. Clever Cutter makes short work of food preparation that used to take up time and create a lot of mess. Now you can chop onions faster than a pro! Ingredients for salads, stews, casseroles and soups can be sliced right into the pot in seconds! Then just rinse under a tap and store your Clever Cutter away until the next time you need it - it won't be long! When needing to cut through a meaty chunk of goodness, the simple cleaver is the chef’s tool of choice. Cutting through animal flesh and bone, you don’t want to use delicate tools that could become damaged or injure the chef in their use. The cleaver is a straightforward implement to cut a carcass into manageable sections before the more delicate work begins. These are rough no-nonsense tools for a specific purpose. The use of stainless steel provides resistance to corrosion and stains on the blade. Care must still be taken to clean and dry the blade after use to avoid unnecessary corrosion due to water.

Ronan Tools manufactured the Sears Craftsman “Handi-Cut” in 1996, which was an industrial-type tool of the same design that would pioneer the development of the Clever Cutter. Some cleavers have high carbon, stainless steel blades. A few use the original lot 1.4116 steel alloy which is tougher. Sometimes blades are heat-treated and then cooled to make them stronger. Better blades are die-cut from one billet of stainless steel alloy. A longer blade width is useful to use the edge of the blade and push down on cloves of garlic to crush them or squash down herbs or vegetables. Blade Height With the success of the Handi-Cut, Ronan Tools decided to create a household item that would do the same thing, so the Clever Cutter was born. The Clever Cutter sold out on its debut night on QVC and has since then remained a favorite household gadget.

A metal of a good grade should be used in its construction since this will give it more longevity. Because it will be handling difficult bones, it has to be robust and resilient. Design You can’t go wrong with something from a brand as widely lauded as Wüsthof. The German manufacturer has mastered the art of creating some of the best knives, and that includes its cleaver. The 6-inch cleaver is precision-forged from a single piece of sturdy high-carbon steel to ensure durability. The tang is also triple riveted to the handle to add even more strength.

Many famous knife brands have produced their products for generations. In some cases, for over two centuries crafting strong steel and wood into dependable cutting knives for chefs around the world to use skillfully in their kitchens. The meat cleaver is the tool that is often found in the collection of knives in the kitchen but not seen too often. However, it’s a vital tool for every chef or cook. The weight is separate to the balance in the hand because depending on the arm strength of the person using the cleaver, a product can simply be too heavy for them to use effectively. Some cleavers that have blunt blades are easier to manage because they don’t need sharpening and never lose their effectiveness. Ronan Tools was awarded the “Partners in Progress Reward” by Sears in 2003 because of its success with the Clever Cutter. Pros

Maintaining a meat cleaver

When the Clever Cutter is not in use, there’s a convenient safety latch built onto the handle of the cutter. This will ensure the blade stays closed when it’s not being used, keeping you safe from accidental injury. With some manufacturers, they prefer to use polypropylene handles that are hygienic and molded to the same shape every time. A polypropylene version is a little more likely to slip in hot hands in a cramped kitchen. Blade Edge The blade height doesn’t matter quite as much as its length. Available cleavers tend to be inconsistent in their design when it comes to their height. Some blades are rectangular almost to the point of appearing square because their height is significant. Other blades are longer and slimmer. Though some cleavers come with wood handles, these require a little bit more TLC. You shouldn’t put any of your knives in the dishwasher (this can dull them faster), but wood needs to be conditioned even after repeated hand-washing. Materials like steel, on the other hand, don’t require the same kind of maintenance. When working with larger animals, you will want a larger and heavier cleaver than you would normally use. Weight of at least one pound must be assigned to it.
