About this deal

But really, you’re looking at adding another Troop, Elite, Heavy Support, and an HQ option. Another Squad of Chaos Marines starts at 180 points for 10. And having more of them is always useful.

The result? Tense, involved, but straightforward games that can be played in less than an hour.* There’s still plenty of nuance for Warhammer 40,000 experts to enjoy – swapping out Enhancements and Secondary Objectives to mix up their playstyle, and mastering each faction’s Combat Patrol in turn, without having to build up a full Incursion or Strike Force-sized army. Points-wise that drops us in at 1885 which is still shy of 2000. However, we haven’t spent any points on wargear! That’s where we’re going to leave it though as the Wargear is really up to you. Send In The Vanguard Space Marines Each Combat Patrol is supposed to be balanced against all the others. That might be hard to believe when looking at the contents of the Adeptus Custodes box set, as the boys in gold are notoriously hard! It looks like there may be some value in the new Chaos Space Marines Combat Patrol; here is our price breakdown and review of the box. It has taken many long years – and countless sacrifices – but finally Ahriman, once the Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons and now a sorcerer in exile, is ready to attempt the most audacious and daring feat of his long life. His quest for knowledge and power has all been for one purpose, and he would now see that purpose fulfilled. His goal? Nothing less than undoing his greatest failure and reversing the Rubric that damned his Legion…They operate as an ‘elite’ army in Warhammer 40k, meaning they tend to field fewer miniatures than their opponents for the same budget of points, but each model can hope to deal out more punishment to the enemy before it gets blown away. Once revered as the guardians of humanity, these Heretic Astartes have forsaken their noble cause and now pledge their allegiance to the sinister Dark Gods. Bolster your forces – be they Traitor or Loyalist – with this set of two Adeptus Astartes HQ options. Originally available in the Space Marine Heroes set, these two plastic miniatures can lead your forces in both the martial and spiritual arenas. The Praetor is clad in Cataphractii Terminator armour, wielding a chainfist and a combi-melta, while the Chaplain is in artificer armour with a plasma pistol and Crozius Arcanum. You also get a set of Horus Heresy transfers. Dice: Sons of Horus and Imperial Fists x1 Helbrute, a walking engine of destruction piloted by a Chaos Space Marine trapped within its plated metal chest, kept alive in a state of agonised insanity

It’s also looking distinctly chaotic on Warhammer+ this week, with Battle Report showing a clash between the Sons of Horus and the Imperial Fists to demonstrate the new rules for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. There’s also a Citadel Colour Masterclass on smoke effects, while the lore from Psychic Awakening books 4 and 5 come to the Warhammer Vault. Leading this tide of traitors out of the warp is a Dark Apostle and his two obsequious Dark Disciples. Whispering twisted exultations to the Chaos Gods, this Priest can bestow malefic blessings upon your army, including Core units like the Legionaries and Havocs who accompany him. The next three armies are all built around Start Collecting! boxes, which are all a great way to start any new force. Many of them contain enough models for you to build a Combat Patrol force right away. Genestealer Cults Prepare to unleash a crimson tide of annihilation in the name of the Ruinous Powers with Combat Patrol: Chaos Space Marines! This meticulously curated boxed set equips you with all the essential units required to commence your collection or reinforce an existing army. For our Veteran CSM Players I’d rate this one a Peat…But only if you still need any of these models. And if we’re being honest, you probably don’t “need” any of these models because you probably already have them. It’s not a bad buy for the contents and maybe you need to fill out some slots. If you think you’re going to need a Dark Apostle and a bunch of Chaos Marines why not snag the extra Hellbrute?Second, the Combat Patrol versions of each faction’s datasheets army rules are different from their main Index. Datasheets are simpler, and armies have access to different Stratagems, and enhancements. Just from looking at the box, there are a decent number of minis inside and if the price stays the same as usual, this could be a decent value. We really don’t see how they could raise the price again, but we won’t put it past them. Here are the contents: The Skorpekh Lord and its Destroyer pals can advance, cutting their way through any enemy unit foolish enough to get close, while the Necrons Warriors follow behind, supporting with volleys of deadly gauss fire. Indomitus Space Marines This stunning print of the cover art from the new codex is available exclusively from Games-Workshop.com. It’s been signed by the artist, and will be available in selected online bundles. Combat Patrol: Genestealer Cults

Realistically, we need to save around 2-300 points for Wargear. So to play it safe, we’re going to just add another unit. You could go with more Chaos Marines but we’re going to mix it up with a “weird” option to expand our collection. A Venomcrawler, Obliterators, or Possessed could all be fun. I don’t think those are bad options for a brand new army. Combat Patrol contents

Experience the tumultuous saga of the Chaos Space Marines as they embark on a relentless ten-thousand-year war against the galaxy that once embraced them. If you prefer to be a little bit naughty, then how about the Sons of Horus Legion dice? Throw in your lot with the Warmaster, and grab this set which comes with 19 regular D6s and one Scatter dice. Matching the armour of the Legion, these dice come in a rich marbled green, with gold pips, and the Eye of Horus on the 6 face, so Horus can see the result of every roll. No self-respecting Chaos Space Marines force is complete without at least one squad of Legionaries. These are the dark mirrors of loyalist Tactical Squads, with access to a variety of wargear and a host of unique weapons that make them more flexible – and violent – than uniform Intercessor Squads.* We’ve added some Kataphron Destroyers to the Start Collecting! Adeptus Mechanicus box, adding a choice of serious firepower to supplement the Skitarii Rangers’ galvanic rifles. Able to shoot their heavy weapons on the move without penalty, the Kataphrons can bombard the enemy with fire while the Skitarii advance in their Skorpius Dunerider to capture objectives. Setting the whole galaxy ablaze is even easier with a unit of power-mad Havocs. With a wide range of weapons, you can kit them out to mow down hordes of infantry or obliterate your enemy’s heavy support.
