If you like you can simply buy some hooks and fix it. but I felt this was much more sturdy and strong. I used some slats for this. I’ve often used a stepladder as a chair in a pinch, but this ladder chair looks so much more comfortable! Arredamenti Ladder Chair is an Italian-made convertible step stool that also functions as a dining room chair or extra seat for guests. Cosco’s Retro Counter Chair comes with a step stool so you don’t have to jump onto the seat; you can also use it as a regular household step stool if needed. It comes in three classic colors to heighten the vintage feel. Measure 13/16″ on one end and make a 90-degree cut. This cut would be dangerous to make on a miter saw. I used my bandsaw to make this cut, but you could also use a jigsaw or crosscut jig and a circular saw. You can buy a store-bought step ladder chair if you don’t have the tools or time to make one. Here are a few popular options you can buy online and have sent to your home.Since you’ll be making a lot of angled cuts and precision is important to this design, I highly recommend you review my tips for adjusting your miter saw for accurate cuts and the best way to adjust a table saw blade for precision cuts. Note: I was not able to locate 5/4×2 at my local big box store. Instead, I used my table saw to rip 5/4×4 to 1-1/2″. Step 1. Would you use the words “safe” and “secure” to describe this step stool? We certainly wood. Delxo’s 2-Step Ladder provides just enough height to reach top cabinets and light bulbs that need changing. The extra-wide steps are textured to keep your feet steady as you climb.

Cut a piece of wood to length and rip to width. Position on the legs, clamp in position and attach using 2″ wood screws. Step 25. Make and Attach the Seat If you’ve ever seen pictures of retro ice cream shops, you’ve seen the high counter stools that eager customers perched themselves on. Fortunately for me, my mom-in-law asked if I could make a step ladder for her. I told her that I don't think I could make a strong step ladder as I did not know how. This chair which I saw on instructables kept flashing in my mind and as I had the balance plywood left from another of her projects ( which is still incomplete!) , I thought I'll use it, and if it comes right, I'll surprise her with it! Dining Room– This DIY ladder chair could serve as an extra seat in a dining room and then an extra lift when you need to grab the holiday dinnerware out of the hutch. I used the template from the magazine and adjusted it to make it more beginner friendly. You can easily draw the pattern on graph paper as I did. All measurements are in inches. If you really want the cutouts in the side panels you can always draw the pattern and cut off the section with a jigsaw. As this was my fist time making this I didn't want to try it as I felt it will compromise the strength ( I am of course over cautious! )

Library Chair combines best of two worlds. It is a stylish, comfortable chair as well as a safe to use stepladder. See also the SHGAO Wooden Library Chair. A few months ago my aunt asked me if I remembered my grandmother’s “little chair”. She went on to say the chair had a permanent home in my grandma’s kitchen and the unique thing about this antique “blah brown” chair was that it had a multipurpose. It also flipped into a ladder. I didn’t remember the chair, but I knew exactly what she was talking about. Apartment– Don’t have room for a full-size ladder in your apartment, but sometimes need an extra boost? This DIY ladder chair is the perfect solution. Just like Mr. Franklin, I enjoy multipurpose furniture projects. My DIY kitty litter cabinet that hides an ugly litter box is one of those projects. It looks like an ordinary cabinet on the outside but opens to reveal a litter box an extra litter storage. Kitties enter through a “potty entrance” flanked by curtains – too cute! As you will notice from the link above. My chair is different in design. I adjusted the original, so that it would be more beginner friendly and less of a hassle.
