About this deal

Press the ADJ/SET button and the minute figure will flash. Adjust using the UP or DOWN arrow buttons. Press ADJ/SET to save the setting. Frequent feed (small feeds at regular intervals). This setting is perfect for cats with specific dietary requirements (e.g. example, diabetic cats). The “frequent feed” allows you to set a determined amount of food to be dispensed at regular intervals you define within 24 hours. You define the “start” and “end” of this 24-hour cycle. The intervals are defined by how many times you want the food to be dispensed during that cycle.

The automatic feeder is battery-operated, requiring 4 x C-batteries that are not included in delivery. The battery life level can be seen on the display. The feeder can store up to 4kg of food and can dispense as many as 12 meals per day (much more than most feeders), making it ideal for cats with specific dietary requirements. Not all feeders have this so if this is a function that you feel would be useful (and fun!) for you and your cats to enjoy then make sure you do your research (have a look in our table) to find out if the feeder you want has it. Battery or Plug? An anti-tamper self-closing nozzle and snap on lid ensure that your pet can only feed at the required time; The Surefeed comes with two feeding bowl inserts, one which is a single bowl, the other which is a split bowl so if you want to serve your cat both wet and dry food you can do without having to mix them.

This certainly won't suit every animal. We doubt most dogs would get on well with it; the dogs in our life would do their best to get through its entire contents in one session and feel sorry for themselves afterwards. We'd probably avoid it for rabbits, too, as 'unlimited food' doesn't really match the proportion of pellets they're supposed to have in their diet. Take-it-or-leave-it cats, though? Go right ahead. They'll love it, and you'll love not having to fill their bowls as often. If you're leaving your pet on their own, reliability is key. Something that doesn't get jammed up, and something with reliable power and a long battery life, makes the difference between a happy pet and a hungry one.

To cancel a meal time setting use the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to highlight frame the relevant meal time. Press and hold the ADJ/SET button until meal time flashes. Then press the UP and DOWN arrow buttons together until the time disappears and display shows --:--. As a general rule we don’t advise using wet food in a feeder because many cats will stop at nothing to get it if they catch a sniff of it. This feeder is relatively similar to the HoneyGuaridan Automatic Pet Feeder, though as it's from a more established brand you may find a little more peace of mind by going in this direction. That sounds more incredible than it actually is but basically it work with a small pedal mechanism. The idea being that your cat will paw at the feeder thus releasing food. This means that your cat has to work for the food before they can eat so hopefully having free access to a large amount of food won’t result in them becoming obese!

Capacity is one of the first things you should consider when thinking about buying a cat feeder. First of all measure out how much your cat eats in a day then work out how many meals (in litres) you need your feeder to be able to store. The brilliance of this over a gravity feeder is that it allows you to change each meal, even including moist food for your cat. One of the fun features of this feeder is that it allows you to record a personalised message for your cat. Simply press the mic button to record a message up to 10 seconds long, this will then be played when food is dispensed, calling your cat to their bowl (not that they are likely to need much encouragement!).

Advance feed (serving the next Set Meal early). With this setting, you can bring a programmed set meal forward. You may only advance feeding schedules programmed for the same day. For example, if you have set 3 meals per day and you want your cat to eat the second meal earlier, you can do it by pushing 2 buttons and the second meal will be served. After this, the screen will flash the next programmed meal (3rd meal). An automatic feeder for dry food, ideal for both dogs and cats and with 3kg capacity. It provides individual portions at programmed times, thanks to the digital timer, and has a pet-safe cover catch. The Cat Mate C3000 Automatic Feeder is ideal for both dogs and cats, designed to ensure your pet receives the perfect amount of dry food at specifically chosen times. This helps to minimise health risks caused by over- or under-feeding. The Cat Mate C3000 Automatic Feeder has an extra-large capacity of 3kg of dry food. It can automatically deliver individually portioned food throughout a 24-hour period, thanks to an LCD programming system, which is easy to understand and use. The portion size for each meal can be for anything from 10g upwards, approximately 2 teaspoons. Features: • An anti-clog feed mechanism to ensure accurate and consistent meal sizes from 10g (2 teaspoons) upwards; Food is stored in a feeder with a storage capacity of 5.9 litres (or roughly 2.7kg) of food. The feeder also has a desiccant box inside it. Desiccant boxes are dry airtight boxes that contain a desiccant such as silica which absorbs all moisture meaning your cat’s food will be kept dry. One of the good things about this feeder which makes it unique to many other feeders is that it can dispense very small portions of food, as small as one tablespoon of dry food if needs be. This makes it perfect for small or very young cats with tiny appetites.
