About this deal

The sword was so named as it was unearthed by the apostles of the Blind King in the ruins of the temple of Antwyr, a cursed place dedicated to a savage and heretical god. With the power to grant the wielder control of all who gazed upon him, the blade's bearer led legions of Heretics and madmen across the Vidar, Tremayne and Darkspire sectors. The Castellan spends his time away from war ceaselessly training, the vicious curses of the daemon always in his mind. For years he has suffered Antwyr's insults in silence, his scorn a shield against the furious rantings of the dead god. I am the power of death incarnate. I am the sword's edge; I hungrily cut the flesh and drink deep of the bloody well beneath. Give me your body, and I promise you glory, I promise you vengeance and I promise you immortality -- if you will only let me..."

Purifiers serve as the spiritual heart of the Grey Knights and are an anathema to Warp spawn with the dark taint of these creatures withering at the touch of a Purifier. This gift means that they form their own small yet entirely unique Brotherhood. The Grey Knights are classic sculpts granted, but are really showing their age, and it doesn’t help that 95% of the box is outdated like that. It’s the big heads that get me – it really is a screenshot from a bygone era. I’d love to see the Grey Knight range get the refresh they deserve so they can look eye to eye with the heretics and daemons they were engineered to hunt. Yet no matter how dark the hour or desperate the battle, Crowe has never succumbed; his thoughts and actions are his own. He is the warden of the blade, incorruptible and inviolable, and will remain so until the day of his death. The world had been almost depopulated after a year-long raid by the Drukhari, its billions of citizens reduced to a scattering of half-starved tribes hiding in the ruins of their once-proud cities. Skulltaker knew the planet was ripe for the Blood God and began a ritual to see it cast into the Warp where daemons would feast upon the souls of the living and dead alike.

Grey Knights Combat Patrol

Castellan Crowe of the Grey Knights bears a heavy burden – to carry the cursed Blade of Antwyr, a weapon imbued with dark power. For the first time, discover the origins of this dread task and why only Crowe can be the one to carry it out. Of course, the box also contains two balanced armies of psychic behemoths – the Daemon-hunting Grey Knights, and the masters of Tzeentch’s magical legacy, the Thousand Sons. The rumors said the Grey Knights would be getting a Strike Squad, Dreadknight, and Crowe. So GW may have actually shown us their half of the box yesterday. If the rumors are true, you’re looking at the release for the Grey Knights right here, and a potential rescaling of their line is most likely not happening with this release.

With 3 Wounds, a 2+ Save, and a 5+ invulnerable save, Grey Knights Terminators absorb a lot of enemy fire before giving up the ghost. Their ability to fire a Heavy weapon on the move means they’ll be dishing out a lot of firepower at range. Purgators– dedicated heavy weapons troops for dealing ranged damage with Psycannons, Psilencers, and Incinerators. The Purifiers are the most stalwart among the Grey Knights, demonstrating extraordinary resistance to the corruption of the Dark Gods. Castellan Crowe is said to be all but immune to corruption, evidenced by the fact he wields a sword with the soul of a malevolent Daemon trapped within it. Read all about it in David Annandale’s Warden of the Blade . Hammerhand - Focusing the raging power of their minds, Grey Knights can augment their already prodigious might. Even unarmed, such a warrior can crush flesh and bone -- given blade or warhammer there is little limit to what they can slay.Looks like the new Castellan Crowe 40k miniature is indeed a Primaris size, so what does that mean for the rest of the Grey Knights?
