Which is hopefully going to be made easier by the intro of Malek. A Russian assassin who lost his brother to one of Declan's killing sprees. Kage is ready to set it all up and then watch Declan fall. Something about this series is making me feel entertained until a certain point and then after a point (usually it's after the kidnapping) the story feels flat and looses my interest. I was so bored once Malek kidnapped Riley and they were alone in the woods. They had some couple times, but it was so much tell instead of show and very repetitive, because nothing happened. The side characters are also really good and well developed and it would be nice to see more from them in the future maybe.

As for the plot, I thought it was not a mess like Carnal Urges and had a slighly more coherent plotline. It ties loose ends from the previous books (Diege etc.) so that was a plus. Some parts were still repetitive.

So, Carnal Urges is the second installment in Geissinger’s Queens & Monsters series and it tells the love story between Sloane Keller and Declan O’Donnell, two people from two different worlds that meet when Declan, who belongs to the Irish mafia, kidnaps Sloane, who supposedly started a war between all his enemies. But Sloane is not the typical kidnapee, she is not afraid and she does not take any shit from anyone. Especially Declan. That surprises him and also is what starts their crazy chemistry. Their banter and sexual tension are turning into something either expected. What will happen when they are forced to face the consequences of that attraction? The story began with an unfolding of a post-kidnapping scene of Sloane, the female lead, by Declan, her ‘beautiful blue-eyed devil’. Sloane had been kidnapped by Declan and his gang on her way to New York City to visit her friend, Natalie. Does he succeed in doing this and getting the domination he has always craved, or does the irresistible Sloane spin his world around and make him see several colors at the same time?Understand that you and your partner may have different levels of sex drive. Carnal urges is a perfectly executed project with great writing and even better character development. Declan didn’t want to be head of the Irish Mob but has suddenly found himself in that position and he blames Sloane for everything. He’s never met a woman like her, a woman that is truly able to face him down with no fear.
