About this deal

Heat the olive oil in the same skillet. Working in batches, add the beef patties and cook for 90 seconds. Flip and reduce the heat to medium. Place a quarter slice of cheddar on top of each patty and cook for 90 seconds more, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked through. Remove from the pan and repeat with the remaining patties and cheese. Use a small biscuit or cookie cutter (even a small jar lid will work) to cut out “mini buns” from your sesame seed buns’ tops and bottoms. Alternately thread the lettuce, gherkin, patties and bacon onto 12 skewers and transfer to a large serving platter. Top each mini patty with a square of cheese and cover the pan with a lid (or a solid baking tray, if the pan doesn’t have a lid). Cook for 1-2 minutes until the cheese begins to melt over each patty. Transfer to a warm plate, covering loosely with foil. Repeat with the remaining oil, patties and cheese. Another added benefit to baking them is the fact that you can do so in LARGER batches which is perfect if serving a larger crowd.

Next make the relish; put the peppers onto a BBQ grill and char each pepper until the skin starts blister and char (this will give the salsa a lovely smoky finish to the salsa) After each pepper has been charred, remove from the BBQ, put into a bowl and cover with cling film. Leave to cool. Put the beef, onion, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, dried herbs and garlic granules in a large bowl and season well. Mix with your hands, until completely combined. Cover and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.Flip over and repeat the colouring , turn the burger over once more and brush with a little melted butter and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes Carefully remove the skewers from the grill and brush all of the skewers in the barbecue sauce full stop return them to the hot grill and cook for a further 8 to 10 minutes whilst turning regularly until your vegetables are fully cooked and the edges of your skewers lightly browned and caramelised. You can also brush them with barbecue sauce multiple times during this process. You’ll never have to choose between burgers and dogs at a cookout again because there’s always room for a mini burger bite!

Once you are ready and your BBQ is good to cook on, remove the burgers from the fridge. Brush each side with a little oil and lay them onto the BBQ and cook for 3 or 4 minutes until you get a really good charring to the burger. The meatball. Mix together the ground beef, sausage, salt, pepper & seasonings. The key to making a tender, juicy burger is to make sure you don’t handle the meat too much. So be careful not to over mix. Warm hands start to break down the fats in the meat, and it’s those fats that add so much juicy flavor to a burger as it cooks! The Fixings. While your meatball “patties” are cooking, prep your condiments & buns. Wash & dry tomatoes. Chop the lettuce. Quarter you cheese slices. In addition to the burger trays and containers, we have a huge range of compostable greaseproof burger wrapping paper and Aluminium foil pop up wraps that are widely recyclable.Make your own meatball/mini burger patties instead of using premade meatballs. We love these homemade turkey meatballs. Serve your grill skewers alongside your favourite side dishes come on such as fresh salads or vegan coleslaw. Add the bacon to a large frying pan (you’ll probably need to cook it in two batches) and place over a medium-high heat. Cook, turning regularly, until the bacon is evenly golden but not too crispy; transfer to a plate. Cut each rasher into 6 pieces and set aside. Serve the skewers immediately with the avocado dip and Simple Truth™ No Sugar Added Ketchup for dipping. If you wanted, you could totally grill these or fry them in a skillet. With that said, these methods would require you to stand and watch them as they cook. Plus, you may not want to smell like fried oil (or a smokey grill) when guests arrive. Make the avocado dip: In a blender, combine the avocado flesh, Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, lime juice, and salt. Blend on high speed for 1–2 minutes, until smooth. Season with more salt to taste.Firstly make the onions; add the cider vinegar, sugar, mustard seeds, star anise to a small saucepan.
