About this deal

Of course, no fully reliable sources exist to prove that this ghoul exists, but at the end of the night, when you crawl into your tent alone and hear the snapping of twigs or footsteps nearby… you might just wonder if Bandage Man is on the prowl. Over the years, some drivers have reported a man covered in bandages jumping into their cars. Sweethearts in parking lots or overlooks report seeing The Bandage Man approaching their car. Others say that they've seen him on the beach and walking down the side of either Highway 101 or a short road known locally as "Bandage Man Road," which connects Cannon Beach. Cannon Beach, Oregon, is just one of the beautiful towns along the state’s coastline. However, this quaint community has a terrifying secret: there’s a blood-drenched mummy that terrorizes a specific stretch of Highway 101. I recently took a trip to Cannon Beach to speak to some of the local residents about the Bandage Man and explore the region he’s said to inhabit, and it seemed as if everyone in this small community has heard this legend. In this article, I’ll discuss the story of the Bandage Man of Cannon Beach and what I learned from visiting his hometown. As far as what created him, the most common origin is the sawmill accident but a few of the sources I found claim he was an electrician or firefighter. Either way, somehow the unnamed man became injured and was involved in an ambulance crash. But Did It Happen?

Other versions of the story claim that the Bandage Man was a firefighter who was scorched while trying to put out a house fire or even an electrician who was badly electrocuted. Most of the time, though, the Bandage Man is said to have been a logger. This is probably because the logging industry in Oregon was extremely prominent throughout the 1900s.Bella Vida Vineyard in Dundee sources their grapes from the same vineyard, which provides a unique flavor profile for each. Doctor Dan the Bandage Man is a children's book first published in 1950, [1] which promotes adhesive bandages. It was originally sold with six Band-Aid brand bandages inside (later editions contained two). [2] The book was conceived by publisher Simon & Schuster, and published as part of their Little Golden Books series, with the cooperation of Band-Aid manufacturer Johnson & Johnson. [3] It was written by Helen Gaspard, with illustrations by Corinne Malvern. [1] Plot [ edit ] The most recent story about Bandage man was reported here on Reddit where the victim at first thinks she is dreaming only to later discover the terror of her dream might have been the Bandage Man https://www.reddit.com/r/oregon/comments/agtscb/has_anyone_encountered_the_bandage_man/ Situated in Oregon’s Clatsop County, Cannon Beach is a small coastal city located on the Pacific Ocean. Its hypnotizing scenery and natural landmarks draw both locals and tourists to its shore each year. White River Falls State Park in Maupin has a beautiful waterfall, an abandoned hydropower plant, and lots of hiking trails.

It doesn’t appear the bandage man legend is based on a real person, instead, it seems the legend was constructed due to the social environment and the very real fear of a dangerous road.

Additionally, you’ll come across several great water activities such as surfing and kayaking. If the water makes you a little iffy, you can bike or hike near the beach.

So, what are the chances that you’ll be torn to shreds by a blood-soaked mummy if you visit Cannon Beach? If you ask me, pretty low. And, as I mentioned near the beginning of this article, Cannon Beach is a beautiful area full of great people and natural beauty. But, still, if you do choose to visit, keep your head on a swivel when driving on Highway 101 at night. The Bandage Man might just be lurking. Others have claimed that the Bandage Man has invaded their homes. I was able to find an account on Reddit that claimed the Bandage Man may have come into their bedroom while they were sleeping: The legend of the Bandage Man is believed to have started around the 1950s. He’s a former logger that was mutilated in a horrible sawmill accident, turning him into the monstrosity that he is today. On the other hand, the beach has also become closely associated with an unfriendly and devious entity known as the Bandage Man. The Bandage Man: The Ghost of Cannon Beach Other than that, you can attend events such as the Sandcastle Contest in June and the Stormy Weather Arts Festival in November. The legend varies as to who he was but most consistently the story states he was a logger in the 1930s who was badly injured on the job. He was wrapped in bandages and sent away in an ambulance. However, that ambulance fell victim to a landslide en route to the hospital on the old Highway 101. When the rescue crew arrived at the landslide location he was reportedly gone. An audio edition of the book was also published by Golden Records and distributed by Simon & Schuster in 1950. [6] The publisher released a similar book containing Band-Aids aimed at girls, Nurse Nancy, in 1952. [7] A sequel, Doctor Dan at the Circus, written by Pauline Wilkins and illustrated by Katherine Sampson, was published in 1960 by Golden Press. [8] Translations [ edit ] He's said to smell horribly of rotting flesh, and sometimes leaves small pieces of bloody bandages in his wake.
