Louise's writing was choppy and the mention of a "sex god" was a little inappropriate to me. Especially since the book attracted people of all ages, not just teenagers. Kids as young as 9-10 have read this book and the mention of "sex god" didn't fall right with me. The average person" would find that the material, on the whole, "appeals to prurient interest in sex" [8] After not hearing from Robbie in a while, Georgia is heartbroken. She decides to make Robbie jealous, hoping he will realise his feelings for her. She invites Robbie's best friend, Dave, to a concert by Robbie's band, the Stiff Dylans. Seeing Georgia and Dave dancing and laughing, Robbie tries to talk to her but is stopped by Lindsay. Now, don't misunderstand me. I laughed out loud at portions of the story, and most definitely felt as if I was reading the actual diary of quite a few of the tweens and young teens I work with regularly. However I would argue that the narrative is a reflection of a popular perception, but in reality a narrow representation of "tweendome" as we know it today. Bob moves to New Zealand after receiving a promotion, while the rest of the family stays in England. During his absence, Connie hires a handsome interior decorator, Jem, to redo the living room, and begins to spend increasingly longer periods of time with him, prompting Georgia to worry about the state of her parents' marriage.

Manjeeven Grewal as Ellen, another member of the "Ace Gang". She is the vulnerable one of the group. In the end, she is introduced properly to Dave by Georgia. Tommy Bastow as Dave "the Laugh", one of Robbie's best friends, whom Georgia uses Dave to make Robbie jealous. He and Ellen later dance and kiss.

But damn it was choppy and random and the timestamps didn't make sense. I think a lot of them were supposed to be funny, like "Oh, I'm going to do this thing and it's going to make me look like a fashion model and then the Sex God will love me!" and then 2 minutes later, "My life is ruined!" Not only did the main characters annoy me but even Georgia's friends. They kept forgiving Georgia after she did something stupid. It made me angry that Louise's society is full of seventh chances.
