About this deal

The third story is written by Scottish satirist Armando Iannucci, collaborating with known Spidey artist Ryan Stegman, in which Peter faces a new villain “Conspiriton”, who induces through hallucinogens that alter people’s perceptions of the media and release a ton of conspiracy theories onto New York. Having directed a comic book movie, which was The Death of Stalin, Iannucci maintains his satirical edge in Marvel’s New York, where media can be easily manipulated and for J. Jonah Jameson to revel as an egomaniac. However, we are not done with the Daily Bugle as Rainbow Rowell and Olivier Coipel’s story showcases Peter’s photography, taking pictures that show a warm side of New York, rather than taking pictures of Spider-Man that will be used to ridicule him by JJJ. So, overall, this is a good book. Not all stories are great, some of them are boring or just odd here. They feel really unnecessary and kinda ruin the book. But on the other hand we have some masterpieces, which is just so rare in the modern comics. Join the industry’s top talent in celebrating Spider-Man’s birthday when AMAZING FANTASY #1000 arrives in August. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for variant cover reveals, creator announcements, and more! For more information, visit Marvel.com. Acclaimed artist Michael Cho and novelist Anthony Falcone craft a powerful story that explores the very root of Peter Parker’s heroism

story - Lannucci/Stegman - 6. That was a rather boring story especially after the tone was set by the previous two... The art isn't th at good as well. Not bad, of course, but still... Plus this new villain is mediocre.

Totally deserved 10. That's a brilliant story with a brilliant art. It's just something you wait from the comic like this. And it's not a typical story, it has a few unexpected moves. Stunningly detailed by Jim Cheung, it is horrific seeing Spider-Man shot in the gut, lying in a pool of his own blood. However, Slott – being no stranger to the character – turns a story of initial horror into one of hope, with doctors doing their best to save him, whilst the rest of New York pays their respect to their hero. Amazing Fantasy #1000 is due out in August, with a cover from John Romita, Jr. and variant covers by Peach Momoko, J. Scott Campbell, Taurin Clarke, Steve McNiven, and Joe Quesada (some of which are seen above). Sinister 60th" is actually my favorite story here. Call me a softy, but when all those people lined up to see Spider-Man on his deathbed, that made me a little emotional. Visionary writer Neil Gaiman and artist Steve McNiven tell a touching tale about how Spidey inspired a young fan

The fact that this is exactly the way Uncle Ben died is not lost on Peter Parker. As he fights for his life from a hospital bed, he says "Not some burglar with a gun...going out like Uncle Ben. Almost feels right."It is a mundane and rather realistic death for a superhero who regularly fought aliens, demons and mad scientists, but this is the point. Peter has always stood for the proverbial little guy, the kind of people who are all too often lost amid the chaos of a world-ending crossover event. Spider-Man never forgets his street-level roots, no matter how many Gods or monsters he fights. Just Some Guy" is a fun, cute little story that I think captures some of why Spider-Man is who he is. Spiderman has always been a favorite of mine even when I went through some times of partners who thought I should grow up and leave comics to kids or nerds. I guess I loved and left them, I just never was a fan of censorship in a relationship. You do change each other but never demand something of the other you found charming to begin with. The Kid’s Got a Good Eye” (written by Rainbow Rowell, illustrated by Oliver Coipel), for what I’ve heard, Ranbow Rowell has a certain fame of not being that good of a writer- being one mostly focused on YA novels-, and yeah, her story was definitely the weakest of the bunch, almost reaching “obnoxious” territories, having a story that places us on the days were Pete was dating Betty Brant, and it’s whole objective is to simply portrait a “day-by-day” in the life of Peter, without that much of an impact, in fact, she pretty much steals a small sequence from Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man 2’, and she doesn’t even bother to do something memorable or meaningful with it. The only highlight in the story was Coipel’s pencils, which I adore seeing in anything Spidey-related, but in the end, is perhaps the only segment in the issue that I kind of disliked. The first story is co-written by Anthony Falcone and Michael Cho (the latter of which did the art), as it centres on a petty criminal who keeps getting apprehended by Spider-Man. Complaining why Spidey keeps stopping small fry and not focus on the cosmic disasters that have plagued the Marvel Universe, the superhero gives the criminal a taste of reality in how breaking the law can hurt somebody, something Peter knows all too well. Cho’s art evokes the aesthetics of Silver and Bronze age superhero comics, which applies well with this tale’s classical look.story - Falcone/Cho - 8.5. It's really short, but nice. It has a message and the art is cool. Might be better, but it's an awesome opening for such a book. And Spidey isn’t the only Marvel hero celebrating a milestone! Campbell’s AMAZING FANTASY #1000 variant cover will be the latest in his series of stunning Anniversary Variant Covers that mark the anniversary of some of Marvel’s greatest characters. Hitting stands this month will be Campbell’s Anniversary Variant Covers for both THOR and HULK, with many more to come. All these stunning pieces will also be available as Virgin Variant Covers. An individual review for each story, along with the credits for the creative teams, can be found listed down below: The most personal story (and my personal favorite of the issue) is Neil Gaiman‘s. With fantastic art and color by Steve McNiven, Richard Isanove, and letters by Todd Klein, the piece follows Gaiman from his time reading comics as a kid to adulthood and meeting Spidey himself. It’s a lovely tribute to both Spider-Man and the late Steve Ditko. McNiven does a fantastic job paying homage to Ditko, with these wonderfully scratchy angular depictions of the Sinister Six and the wallcrawler himself. The personal touch in this really speaks to how iconic Spider-Man is and the massive impact he’s had around the world. Ditko-esque Spider-Man in the best possible way Ho Che Anderson and Giuseppe Camuncoli deliver thrills and chills in a horror-fueled Spidey adventure that cuts to Peter Parker’s core
